I don't have any alternative.

The skirt / heels are not great but they'll do. The vest / cardi is AWFUL but i genuinely don't have anything better.

You have a lovely figure but those clothes aren't showing it off

I don't think showing off your figure is the aim of an interview outfit, unless you're after some sort of pole dancing job Hmm

Congrats o/p! I recently went for a job in a big, military type organisation where most wear uniform and everyone Sir's and Maam's each other. All i had was black elasticated waist trousers (described as "beach" trousers when i bought them), and an old white shirt (with a black sports bra Blush ) and an m&s cardi.

I also got the job :)

My advice for footwear - I hate black shoes so go for navy or tan. Brogues or loafers in tan would be great. Don't get suede - they don't wear well.

Those white shoes look like cheap plimsolls rather than something to wear to work.

I like all your other bits and pieces.

You don't need nude tights - you've got good legs.

Excuse me, your legs are most certainly not horrible! You've got very good legs .Smile

Love the spotty dress and jacket combo

Have to agree you have gorgeous legs. I don't know what you're on about there.

I love this thread!
I'm supposed to be going interview shopping this weekend. Thinking of not doing and cobbling something together from my wardrobe. It seems to be the way forward Grin

I bloody love this thread too NC4now. I can only urge you to cobble and shine!

Thank you everyone for all the support and encouragement - it has meant the world - I'm a million miles away from my comfort zone and literally thousands of miles from family and friends, and you guys have been awesome. Am really excited to start on Monday, and one thing I'm not worried about it what I'm going to wear.

English teacher checking in here! Here Miss!

I too am beginning a new job September. Staffs super smart.

I've been trawling ebay for smart tops (loads, great labels, fraction of the price) and am investing in 2/3 pairs decent black trousers. Capsule. Go!

We have an elclectic cobbler at my school. I bloody love her outfits! Sometimes she comes in red DMs, other times in spotty Mary Janes (which she told me are actually slippers).

I look forward to seeing her everyday, because she looks so beautiful and interesting!

Well, I start in 12 hours.
5yo is running a fever and shivering.
I have an ear infection that makes it hard to open my mouth.
Dh has a really high stress week coming up.
And (of course) I just got my period.

Starting to wonder if going back to work was a completely brilliant idea.

Good luck for tomorrow. You will get through it all. Hope you have been able to do a big shop today and don't feel proud of some basic instant easy meals.
