Foundation brushes

So I have been applying foundation with a brush for the past few days. The difference is amazing, my skin looks incredible. I don't know why I've been using my fingers. It is even quicker to do.
However, I only have one brush, and I think I should clean it.
What can i use? Preferably something I don't have to purchase. Will shampoo do?

I agree! Transformed my make up

Following on cleaning too ...

Have you got a concealer brush too, again this too was a game changer

Shampoo is recommended by MAC.

I've used washing up liquid as well, in the past.

I use shampoo or a bar of soap
For the latter, you just rub the brush on the soap until it goes a bit frothy and then rinse well
Shampoo is a bit messier because I have to put the shampoo on the palm of my hand and then rub it in and foundation water tends to flick onto me and the sink

About once a week seems to be enough for my brushes

Will use shampoo, thank you
A concealer brush? I must get one. I've just been using my fingers for that! Do they sell Techniques in Tesco? I will definitely get one.

I have Johnson's baby shampoo I use just for brushes.

I have an assortment of brushes including real techniques and , just recently bought a new one from Wilko's. Haven't tried it yet. I also like the bamboo ones (Eco?) cannot rememberthe damn name but they sell in Boots.

I have also bought a very good concealer brush in Body Shop,

I use a superdrug brush cleaning spray,it's £3.

Also, don't use hot water, as it melts the glue and the bristles fall out
Better to use tepid water...

look at aliexpress, low prices and don't forget to read reviews

Piratesandpants · 25/07/2017 15:48

Can I ask what foundation brush you're using? My Estée Lauder one just seems to absorb the foundation and leave little on my skin Confused

I much prefer a damp beauty blender but a Real Techniques stippling brush is good.

I use my dr bonner's body wash. I used to use soap, but I got scared off when I heard that they made your brush hairs brittle. I am using Makeup revolution's brush cleaner (£5) and it's not bad. It cleans and my brushes feel soft.
