Bio Sculpt (?) Nails Question

EdinaMonsoon · 23/07/2017 14:09

I stubbed my toe on a piece of furniture a few weeks ago and lost half of my toenail in the process (all the glam Hmm ). I visited a local salon and had the nail rebuilt with Bio Sculpt because it was unsightly and was worried about it becoming sore. Technician said that it would just naturally grow out and I should just file the built-up bit of the nail as the natural nail grows out beneath. I've no experience of fake nails/acrylics or that kind of thing but a quick google search says that this type of nail needs to be replaced every 3 weeks rather than left to be grown out.

Can anyone tell me which is correct? Grow out or need to replace?

Is it covering the remaining nail or tacked onto the free edge?.

It's covering the remaining nail. There is approx a couple of mms growth at the base.

It should be ok, a lot of the advice focuses on finger nails because their exposed to water & chemicals more than a toe nail is.

I've kept Biosculpt on toenails for a couple of months. I think most people replace fingernails after 3 weeks because of the growth at the bottom - ie, a couple of millimetres of blank nail.

Thank you for your advice! I was worried there might be (more) damage if left on. I'll leave it for a couple of weeks more then & have it removed.

Thanks again!
