Sketchers?

They're REALLY not my cup of tea but I have lymphedema (causes swelling - my feet are eee+ width - the left worse than the right) and have found I can get them on...

I'm off on holiday next week and need something to wear for flying (will be wearing compression socks (sexy eh?) So need to hide them as best i can

Do you like/ wear them? I'm usually a silly jeans and biker boots type so the thought is making me itch a bit.

Or... any Other REALLY wide options for casual shoes?

I've got Sketchers Go Walk. A pink pair and a Black pair. They are so comfy. Use the black pair for work.

I think I mentioned on here before - my friend developed very swollen legs on holiday and was worried about the flight home - she managed to get her sketchers on and was very pleased about that.

I wear mine most days (thogh have gone into some other sporty type sandals at the moment).

Really? You don't think they're fugly?? I HATE having so little choice 😢 don't so much hate the slip on ones but they won't hide my compression socks for the flight 😣😣

They are super comfy though!! They do sandals too!

Luckyme2 · 22/07/2017 20:25

Love my go walks! As does my 12 year old DD!

They aren't going to win any fashion prizes, but they're reallllly not the most ugly things out there either. They are so ubiquitous no one will even give a second thought to your shoes. Trust me, no one will care as much as you, so just turn your care to your comfort!

Got mine when pregnant so I could slip them on but found they went v stinky unless you wear socks with them- I rarely have smelly feet. Very very comfy and light though.

Personally, I like them. I wear mine to work (black plain lace-up) with my NHS Uniform .
Only minor downsides/niggles:
you need to try them on to see what size suits you. I've had some in a 5, some a 5.5 , my RL foot size is a 6.
The insoles in some (Memory insole) make me feel like I'm trying to walk across a bouncy castle so I take them out of some of my Sketchers.
The sole looks grippy but IME going from wet pavements to a lino or tile makes me slide like Bambi.

QVC have a Sketchers TSV at midnight - don't know what style or price though. (qvcuk.com)

I'm not a fan of slip ons myself , I have very narrow feet so I need a fastening.

They're not the most attractive shoes TBH, but comfort is the most important thing.

"Oh look at that women hobbling along with a face like thinder because every step is causing her pain, but oh , what beautiful shoes. That more than makes up for it" ..... said No-One . Ever.

They have some nice styles plus they are soooo comfy!

I have a totally plain black pair which are fabric with a black rubber sole which I wear for work as I'm on my feet all of the time and have plantar fascitis and a recurring stress fracture in my left foot. I wear them with opaque black tights and then a formal (ish) skirt and a shirt. Have to avoid a black skirt with a plain white shirt as I do look like a waitress!

I have a more casual indigo pair - like trainers - with white soles and hot pink edging which I wear if I have to do a mammoth shopping trip or something else informal that involves loads of walking or standing but isn't sport. I wear them with indigo skinny jeans.
