Belly overhang help!

JustMumNowNotMe · 21/07/2017 08:08

Hi all, recently lost weight and still losing but have a horrible overhang thanks to the babies. I look horrendous in trousers but need them for work so want to get some shapewear to lift thst area and smooth it out so I can wear trousers without stress.

Can anyone reccomend anything? My upper tummy is fine its just the bottom bit.

Thank you!!!!

Not shapewear but these high rise shorts give me a much smoother shape.

You might be able to get them in store at M&S, it's only a few weeks since I got some from there but they've disappeared from the website. They do have other high rise no vpl but whether they're as good I don't know.

JustMumNowNotMe · 21/07/2017 15:44

Hmmm not sure they are heacy duty enough 😂 thank you though. Really hoping in a couple of months it will have reduced enough that I'll only need something like this so will try M&S then Smile

I have the over hang and was hoping you'd have a secret trick Grin

Justhadmyhaircut · 21/07/2017 19:08

Stretchy big pants from primark. . Pack of 3-£5. Black or white. Not no vpl but very smooth in clothes!!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 21/07/2017 19:19

I have a hideous overhang too, and the primark pants mentioned above help me a little. Mostly I just wear long tops though :(

JustMumNowNotMe · 21/07/2017 21:18

I'm thinking I need Spanx or Maidenform but wonder if they will just roll down?!

Will pop into Primark on Monday as I'm on town shopping so will report back!

Stupid question but are you sure your stomach muscles knitted back together after birth?

PlaymobilPirate · 21/07/2017 22:46

Mine is vile - makes me want to cry.

doowapwap · 21/07/2017 22:53

I have one too, 3 children, 2 c sections, have not been my friend!! It really gets me down. But I remind myself - when I look at a woman who has one, I never think "disgusting", it might register but never do I think something negative.

I am stay at home mum to 3 kids, 4 and under. I wear leggings and long tops a lot, comfy and practical and I do still look nice!!

smart clothes... have you tried high waisted? Or perhaps wide leg trousers? Next always have some. I find long tops help, but I try to go for ones that are flattering, not just a sack.

It is really hard, I know the struggle. but it's there and I have to deal with it Flowers

Justhadmyhaircut · 21/07/2017 23:37

I start my one to one personal trainer sessions on Monday with a dude so scarey I won't be wavering from the programme!! Separated stomach muscles from lots of dc and a c section 3 years ago. It's a 12 week programme. Will try and remember to update. . Unless my regime leaves no room for mnet!! Shock

SansaClegane · 21/07/2017 23:52

Sadly have the overhang too, just lots of loose skin. If you're going to Primark, I have the Spanx-y cami that they do - you don't have to worry about it rolling up/down and it really sucks everything right in! Haven't tried their other shapewear yet but for that sort of money you can't go wrong.

toriah · 22/07/2017 14:41

Try these:

Sloggi control, i find them really good :)

Merakcat · 22/07/2017 18:15

Spanx and pilates work well. Proper spanx don't tent to roll down. I find high waist trousers a disaster as I end up with one massive mono tummy. I find a slightly lower cut better as it splits the tummy in two and with the spanx worn underneath there is no muffin top.

JustMumNowNotMe · 23/07/2017 10:49

I've thought of trying pilates, will look into local classes Smile
