Dark circles and makeup

Can anyone recommend something to cover dark circles please? I've been using Touché Eclat (number 2) for years but it doesn't cover them well any more.

I don't have bags and I don't use a foundation day to day. I'm looking for something that can go on top of a moisturiser and stay there! Thanks!

I have no tips. I'm just posting because I'm wondering the same thing.

You need a coral colour corrector then concealer

I suffer terribly from dark circles, that much that people think my mascaras run if I'm not wearing concealer, at the moment I'm using maybelline under eye eraser but also like NYX dark circle concealer

If you have a "Boot's" near you the lady on the make up counter will try one on you to match your skin tone. Free of charge and you don't have to buy it. That's on the no7 counter.

Thanks I'll try boots tomorrow for a corrector!

I use Touché Eclat too and it has never cut the mustard, nor have I found any other concealer or eyecream that banishes the blighters. I think TE is not strictly a concealer though, it's a highlighter, but I still swipe it on.

Watching this thread with interest.

If they're blue toned dark circles you need a peachy coloured corrector with a concealer that matches your skin over the top. If they're brown toned then a pinky coloured corrector works better.

I'm pale white skinned with cool undertones and my cycles are blue/purple. I use 'secret concealer' in 1 from laura mercier and nars radiant creamy concealer in chantilly on top. Strictly speaking the LM one isn't a corrector but is peach toned enough for me atm. Bobbi Brown do corrrctirs that are more peach toned and I'm buying g that after this one runs out. I think LM do actual correctors too. Mac too probably, have a search for one that you prefer.

Applying it in a V shape under the eye rather directly on top of the blue is suppose to be better too. Lisa Eldridge has done good videos on this.

Mine are blue/green. I have v fair skin but a warm skin tone and if I don't wear something, it looks like I've been in a fight!

Seems like I'll need two products then. I'd hoped for a thick concealer or something!

I thought touché eclat was more of a highlighter. It's definitely no good at covering dark circles. At the moment I'm
Using a bourgeois CC eye cream (123) which is good. Best coverage I got though was a Laura mercier undereye concealor in a compact.

I got the Jane Iredale Enlighten corrector after Wayne Goss did a demo of it on You Tube

I use it without anything on top, and it has done a great job of removing my allergy "shiners" I ordered this kit (the yellow is great at knocking out red veins/marks left by spots) but you can order Enlighten on its own

HandmaidsFail · 14/08/2017 07:53

At last, I made it to Boots. No7 didn't have anything but the lady at the counter recommended NYX. I got the Dark Circle Concealer Correcteur and it's great!

It's worth googling dark circles/gut health, dark circles/autoimmune, and having a wee read, because chronic dark circles under the eyes can be a sign of underlying issues. The tendency towards having them can run in families (but then, so does the tendency to develop the associated gut issues iykwim).

For many years I struggled to cover up my really pronounced, awful, dark circles, which were getting worse with age- my mother had the same. I changed to a gluten free, low fodmap diet (due to health issues ), and the circles disappeared, it's been 6 years since diet change and my skin is great, no dark circles, no rashes, acne cysts or spots... more recently my DM was diagnosed with a different medical issue and has also changed her diet, also low fodmaps but not not completely gluten free), her lifelong dark circles and rosacea have improved immensely.

Obviously a change of diet won't work for everyone but it could be worth a try Smile You could save a bloody fortune on make up too Grin
