Recommend me some skincare products

I need some recommendations. I am a bit a lot laise faire about my skincare. I use a face wash and moisturiser, wipes in the evening and a night cream. However I really feel like I need to do more.

I am nearing 40 and the wrinkles are multiplying, but I also have quite oily skin, large pores and a few spots most of the time.

I've had a look online and in the shops and I am confused by the array of products. What should I be using? Would it be worth going to one of the counters and getting advice bit put off by the orange glow of the ladies' make up though ?

Help I am clueless!

I have oily skin too and just before christmas i decided to try temple spa products. I use way to go cleanser in the morning with toning essence and matte moisturiser. I also use windows of the soul for dark under eyes. At night i use no7 hot cloth cleanser with temple spa toner. Then if i feel i need a night cream, which isnt often, i use repose from temple spa, it calms the skin especially if i have a couple of hormonal spots.

I also use purificatiin mask at least once a week. My skin has gotten so much better and so smooth.

She is a bit of a marmite character on here, but check out Caroline Hiron's blog. She has some great cheat sheets about where to get started.

Face wipes are not great, I'd get rid of them for a start and use your face wash to cleanse your face, especially if you wear make up. I have very different skin needs to you but tend to do the following PM routine:

Cleanse x 2
Acid tone
Oil/Serum
Moisturiser

Superdrug have some great own-brand products. I'm a big fan also of Alpha H. I would have a read of Caroline Hirons, and then have a look on websites like lookfantastic, Beauty Bay, Cult Beauty where you can buy smaller starter kits or samples to get an idea of what works for you.

Thanks both. That gives me something to look in to.

Anyone else with any recommendations?
