Why does my make up disappear?

I'm starting to feel as though I'm wasting my time applying make up as it just seems to disappear.

I'm bothered most about mascara - my eyes really need definition and I don't get how I can go from wearing two coats and it looking quite dramatic to it looking like my lashes are completely bare. I use a waterproof formula and an eyelash curler and have just switched to Bourjois Volume Reveal from Mac False Lashes.

My Foundation seems to disappear as well even if I use a primer first and apply with a brush. I use Dior Nude Air, Lancôme Air De Teint or Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. I want to stay with a light formulation as I don't like feeling 'caked'. I finish with loose translucent powder as my face can be quite greasy.

I want a fairly natural look it I still want to feel 'made up'.

Do you unconsciously touch your face throughout the day?

Also personally for my mascara to achieve the volume I like I have to keep applying it, 2 coats do nothing for my lashes.

Maybe lvl or eyelash tinting will help?

Get urban decay setting spray.
It will stay put with that

Look at your skincare first
If you're dehydrated your skin will pull moisture from your makeup
Get a hydrating serum and a facial oil as well
Put a good layer of face cream over this and let it sink in for a few minutes
You might need to switch primers
Really buff your foundation or press with a sponge like the Real Technique one
Allow time for your foundation to set whilst you do something else like eyes, lips or hair
Then press a fine layer of powder with either a puff or the sponge
When you're finished used a setting spray like urban decay or nyx

Re mascara make sure all traces of cleanser are removed. You might want to try a primer for lashes but I think it's probably worth experimenting with different formulas

I probably do touch my face throughout the day, which isn't great.

I'm using a Dior primer at the moment but could try something else. I've used Smashbox in the past and a MAC one which I like. I will try the Urban Decay spray next time I am at a store that sells it.

I'm not sure about cleanser remaining, but I wear contacts and sometimes get watery eyes so that probably doesn't help the Mascara stay put. A lash primer sounds good.

There are more and more setting sprays available from drug store brands that are performing to similar levels as UD etc. I would also look at ranges that are designed for 24 hour wear xx

Use the white coat mascara first. I couldn't achieve the same look without this.

I have the same problem at the moment re eyelashes, I'm sure mine have got shorter. I have just today bought some false eyelashes which I'll be testing out soon. I also bought some new mascara which I'm also hoping will do the trick.
I tinted my eyelashes black earlier today for the first time, can't believe I left it so long, it's so easy, in preparation for my new falsies.

I might need new eyelash curlers tbh mine have had it after many loyal years
