Air dry product for wavy/curly hair - recommendations?

Bettycheese · 12/07/2017 21:09

Does anyone have recommendations for a really effective styling product to be used on wavy/curly hair for air drying/without a hairdryer, that will tame frizz and separate waves/curls please? (I have fairly fine hair).

I'm going on holiday to Turkey soon and as it will be very hot, I'd prefer not to use my hairdryer of an evening.

Thanks!

I don't own a hairdryer and I'm 44. I've always air dried my hair so much better. I'm currently using a shea moisture one which I really like. You don't need much. I let my hair dry then give it a little fluff up when my head is upside down.

I use Garnier hair oil followed by either Revlon Curly Orbital cream or else Moroccan oil curl cream. Both are fab but the Moroccan oil curl cream is twice the price.

Boot hair serum (cheap and good)

I wash my hair then condition . I comb through the conditioner then rinse, wrap in towel for a while and let air dry . I do not recomb or brush . When dry I finger through some Toni and guy oil . Easy

Yes yes yes - Redken No Blow Dry cream. It is a miracle worker!

I have wavy/curly hair and never thought I'd be able to let it air dry first time and have it smooth and lovely (I had a routine of air drying, product, wetting my hair again, more product, etc) but this does it.

It comes in three different strengths depending on hair thickness.

Creme de mousse by Elnett

My routine is as follows:
I wash my hair in Body shop Rainforest shampoo & conditioner (SLS free)

Then comb out tangles using a wide tooth comb.

Then I rub a small golf ball size of creme de mousse & comb through damp hair not wet hair.

When my hair is almost dry I put it in a top knot & blast with a hair dryer & leave to set. Or skip the hairdryer & leave it until naturally dry.

I use tesco value hair gel (blue in a tub), it has no silicone or anything, use about a walnut sized blob, scrunch it through my hair with my head upside down, then leave it to dry ( usually tied in a ponytail on top of my head). When it's dry I scrunch the crunch out, then massage through a tiny bit of curl creme - just a dot. Works a treat.

Bumble and bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil is amazing in hot weather. It's quite spendy but I think I bought my bottle in 2014: you need the tiniest amount, smoothed through wet hair.

I use frizz ease mousse - it's called air dry. I like it because it doesn't dry crunchy

Do you not find that air drying leaves your hair a bit limp and flat? I have to diffuse at the roots in order to get some body into my hair.

I use Frizz-Ease curl reviver mousse. Scrunch into wet hair, leave to dry naturally then give it another scrunch when dry so it feels less cardboard-y.
