This is for up to age 5

I wondered if they had been listening to complaints about muddy colours and annoying logos and slogans - these look OK to me?

Well it's definitely an improvement!! Would have liked to see some red in there though (ds looks SO cute in red ). I like the turquoise stuff.

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:06

The shorts are all too long for my taste too - shorts should IMO finish above the knees (how old-fashioned am I? )

JanH · 24/03/2007 19:07

red monkeyface T shirt?

I just picked on that one page as a good example, there is more! Prices seem v good too.

Try Vertbaudet for lovely colours and a selection of printed and plain clothes. They still have too many things with writing on, but they tend to say surreal things about the jungle etc rather than "Lager lout in training" or whatever

JanH · 24/03/2007 19:09

some red here too but a bit more slogany

I like longer shorts, but pref above the knee - anyway it's all academic for me, DS2 wears small men's now

stripes and cars look nice!

Blimey, he's grown since I saw him last then

I have to agree, those prices make me think I could almost afford to buy new rather than via the charity shops

And deffo an improvement on the sludge/camouflage/I'm a monster stuff.

JanH · 24/03/2007 19:25

He has - his T shirts cost a bit more than £3 these days!

I emailed them in DISGUST after their latest hooligan/vandal/elderly golfer range last year.

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:30

Did you get a response, hunker?

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:30

I love their roll-up fleecy-lined cotton trousers too - DS1 has several pairs (I buy them on the "they might be £8, but they'll last DS1 for over a year and DS2 will wear them too" basis - bargain ).

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:30

Yes, will see if I can find it.

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:33

"Thank you for your recent e mail and I was sorry to learn of your disappointment with our decision to include motifs on some of our childrenswear ranges.

I understand that after recently purchasing two tops for your older son which resulted in many compliments, you were disappointed that you could not find anything else that did not carry a motif.

After taking the opportunity to speak with our Childrenswear Merchandising Department I can advise that there is currently a very popular trend for motifs on garments and at present we have no plans to discontinue this theme. However, we are looking to introduce a range of contemporary styles into our Autumn/Winter 2006 and Spring/Summer 2007 ranges which I hope you will find to be more suitable.

As customer feedback is important to us, I have forwarded a copy of your e mail onto our Childrenswear Product Director for her future reference and consideration.

Once again please accept my apologies for any disappointment caused and thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us about this matter."

I'd said something about how I'd bought two stripy T-shirts for DS1 and wanted to get something else, but all I could see was stuff for hooligans and elderly golfers (you know the pastel diamond tank tops!) - he translated that as "motif"

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:33

Trousers don't last five minutes in my house - and that's just the girls! Dd1 never has any clothes to pass on to dd2 because she just trashes them, and I can never sell on dd2s because she does the same . Fortunately they live in hand-me-downs!

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:35

LOL at your email!! They are still doing their elderly golfer stuff I see

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:36

LOL Miaou - I have pristine white tops from DS1 - they're not fit for the bin by the time DS2's worn them...

Thank goodness DS1's the oldest! Saves me a fortune! He lives lightly in his clothes, shall we say? (He weed on the potty for the first time last night too )

SoupDreggon · 24/03/2007 19:37

You'll be pleased to know the stuff in 3-16 still includes skateboarding thugs and skulls .

SoupDreggon · 24/03/2007 19:37

When you say on the potty do you mean all over the outside of it in true boy style?

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:40

They've got some of the trousers I mean on pages 7 and 10.

I love the colours this year - DS1 looks gorgeous in orange, brown and green, particularly.

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:40

ooooooh congratulations ds1!! What a clever boy

There's no decent dungarees either. Ds is dungaree boy until he is potty trained (probably next summer!) but they are hard to find (particularly ones that fit washable nappies, which next are notoriously bad for).

White tops and the dds - pah. Ridiculous idea. I am going to dress them head to toe in black next year . They can be Goth and like it.

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:41

SD, no, I mean in the potty, very neatly - this is a child who at 16mo ate black cherries in a white top with no bib - a white top that's still pristine.

Miaou · 24/03/2007 19:45

Ds is pretty good at eating neatly too - has never worn a bib and spilled less this lunchtime than dd1 - but he does tend to get his sleeves in his food in his excitement

SoupDreggon · 24/03/2007 19:46

Snort! DSs were fabulously good with their aim until they reached 6.

BabyDragon ate a chocolate muffin today in a cafe whilst wearing a brand new white top and no bib. She was nose down in the plate at one point and they'd helpfully warmed it so the choc chips had melted. I'm hoping Oxyclean will sort it. She is not a naturally neat, clean and tidy child.

colditz · 24/03/2007 19:47

Oh wow, that's more like it!

SoupDreggon · 24/03/2007 19:47

Miaou, would you like me to check the 18-24 months clothes box in my loft for too-boyish-for-DD dungarees?
