Bikini for short pear-shaped size 10 (ish) me

I have not worn a bikini since I was 12 but I think that I'm going to go for it this summer. Stats: I am in my mid 40s, 34B bra size, size 10 dress size but pear shaped so sometimes I wear size 12 bottoms. Lately I have purchased a few Zoggs swimsuits and I have had to buy size 12.
My body is not too bad but I definitely look better dressed. Not too big a tummy, my worst feature by far are my thighs which are rather heavy in comparison to the rest of my body. I also have saddle bags. Basically I can look rather slim dressed, but fat naked.

I would be grateful if you would link me to specific flattering bikinis I could try.

Thanks!

Don't go skimpy on the bottom half or for the shorts style as they will make you look shorter. I'm similar stats to you and find halter necks work well. I always have a short sarong/wrap to cover my thighs when wandering about.
I found Debenhams great last year to go and try on styles if you get the chance! Less skimpy and more choice than other high street shops

I have a similar shape to you - all be it a bit larger Blush

I find when buying bikini's that I have to buy seperates so that I can buy them in different sizes - not a problem, loads of places do this now.

I also go up a size or two on the bottoms - nothing worse than bikini pants digging into hips / thighs. The tie side bikins are usually a good bet because then you can adjust them.

Also make sure you get pants that give good coverage and aren't too tiny. On the flip side of this I've found the high wasted bottoms make me look even larger so I tend to stay away from them.

I have brought a couple of bikinis from fat face in the past but to be honest there are tons of places that will sell stuff that is suitable. Just be sure to pick a colour that complements your skin tone - ie if you are prone to burning don't buy anything pink / red.

I have been browsing at what's on offer in M&S and I am surprised that all bikini bottoms are hipster style. I agree that 'shorts' style bikini bottoms will make me look larger and shorter. I think ideally for me would be a semi high leg but can't find them!!

I was a similar shape and size to you last summer - 39 weeks pregnant now so not in bikini mode this year!

Marks and Spencer's had some lovely sets last year, flattering bottoms (knicker style) and good structured tops. No strings, not skimpy and good quality.

Also try Seafolly. The bottoms are the best, knicker style with a sort of cross over in the middle below your belly button which is so flattering. I bought plain black Seafolly bottoms and put them with a black and white M and S top.

Sorry, just seen you post about m and s bottoms! Maybe not so good this year, try Seafolly

These were the ones, on John Lewis website. I didn't look like that mind you!
