Hi, can anyone recommend a good face wash please? Reasonably priced. Thanks

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and my skin has never looked or felt better.

Johnsons clean and clear, the cream wash not the scrub.

DiscoSloth · 10/07/2017 23:28

Coal Face soap from Lush.
Made from charcoal and licorice and has done wonders for my skin.

FerretsAreFeminists · 10/07/2017 23:30

I like the boots tea tree one. My skin has been close to flawless since I started using it.

ohms11 · 11/07/2017 01:08

Back when i had spots, I swore by sebamed... Or neutrogena soap bar, for an ultra-budget option.

Ojoj1974 · 11/07/2017 01:19

Please don't be put off by the name.. l'Oreal extraordinary facial oil cleanser

Ojoj1974 · 11/07/2017 01:20

I have v oily skin and the L'Oréal facial oil is fabulis. Non greasy and it got rid off my spots!
I bought it from Boots for about £6

Orangebird69 · 11/07/2017 01:24

Nothing foaming or scrubbing. Try a balm/hot cloth cleanser followed by an acid toner.

OlennasWimple · 11/07/2017 01:25

Nothing! Honestly, warm water and a clean flannel is so much better for my skin than anything else I have tried (and I've tried a lot)

user1499695642 · 11/07/2017 01:27

If you're skin is oily, then I couldn't recommend more the Clinique anti-bacterial cleansing bar. The spot gel (in the same range) is also incredible.

Re. the cleansing bar: I use this everyday and have not suffered from severe acne since I started using it (5 years ago touches wood)

Re. the gel: I get a tingling feeling and think s* a spot is coming, pop it on the area and voila - it doesn't appear. Even when a spot is starting to surface, you put it on and it literally zaps it (in 2 days max).

MikeUniformMike · 11/07/2017 01:38

Thanks user. I was going to suggest what a pharmacist friend recommended. Simple soap.

PitilessYank · 11/07/2017 01:50

My acne improved when I stopped using all cleansers, creams, and treatments.

Prior to that, I had tried every treatment available.

Now I use a glycolic acid cleanser and a mild salt-based dermabrasion scrub, but only once each week.

Thanks all

Whats good for an acne prone male teen?. Ds has dreadful skin..but doesn't want a face wash "for girls"

Rufus27 · 13/07/2017 20:41

Really recommend the Clinique Anti Blemish range. The bar (soap) is about £17 but seems to last ages (six months at least).

I have terribly sensitive skin and have had quite Oily and spotty skin since my teens. I now use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. A revelation. Doesn't leave my skin right or dry and definitely isn't stripping it, making it even oiler, the way some cleansers designed for oily skin do. I take my make up off first with simple cleansing lotion then use the cetaphil with a flannel and rinse.

Ds is 13 and has started using it. The packing is unisex and plain. Suits his skin too.

My older teenage DS has been using EFfaclar foaming gel face wash for oily skin followed up with EFfaclar Duo+ (Spot cream) both by La Roche Posay - sold at Boots but can be brought cheaper over the web. He's found the to be quite effective when used together. He's also been on a long course of a mild antibiotic from the GP as his skin was so bad.

2nd Orangebud
Do not use anything foamy The worst you could do to your skin

CurlyhairedAssassin · 13/07/2017 20:53

Yes, I agree, no to anything foamy. I ran out of cetaphil recently and tried some face wash designed for suooosedly very very sensitive skin that I had never used. Can't remember the brand but something quite well thought of for sensitive skin. It just made my face all tight and flakey. Was very foamy.

Nowgimmeagin · 13/07/2017 23:26

I second Johnson's clean and clear (the cream one)

Itsnothingoriginal · 14/07/2017 12:43

Body Shop Tea Tree cleansing wash is good. Foaming but doesn't make my face feel tight like a lot of the others do. Teenage DS uses it too and has helped keep the spots at bay for both of us Smile

DressFromOxfam · 14/07/2017 13:35

place marking to tackle my horrible spots

silkpyjamasallday · 14/07/2017 17:48

My skin is oily, I use eve Lom cleansing balm everyday, I do the hot cloth cleansing routine it recommends on the packaging but I also use a foreo Luna mini after. It's a vibrating silicone thing that really helps remove every trace of dirt from your skin, and is better than the cleansing tools that use bristles as it is easy to clean and doesn't hold the dirt. I haven't had any spots other than hormonal ones since I started using it, if your spots are hormonal I don't think there is much you can do unfortunately.

thegirlthatcant · 14/07/2017 18:37

cetaphil - you can buy in boots
believe me i had tried everything and have suffered since childhood with blemished skin - this product is fantastic and only £8.99
use on dry skin - clean off with flannel then double cleanse at evening and i use another flannel- keep everything clean keep turning the flannel to use another clean part
do not any sort of scrub way too harsh
best wishes

My 9yo DD has started getting spots so I bought her clearasil sensitive face wash and her spots are less red and less noticeable. She is happy as she was getting very self conscious. I might start using the stuff too although she says "NO, it's MINE" lol
