Help in replenishing the gaps in my wardrobe.

Following on from another thread on which I commented. I've finally had a wardrobe sort out. I have a big bag of clothes and shoes to go to the charity shop and another pile I've listed on eBay.

It was birthday last week and I've got some vouchers and money to spend, hence me wanting to do this sort out now.

I've got:

£150 for house of Fraser - new bag?

£50 for newlook (mum thinks I'm still 20 I think lol) - sandals or basics like vest tops?

£20 Boots - looking for non perfumed body moisturiser and nice foot cream. I'm using palmers foot magic but it's SO greasy I can't walk for an hour after putting it on.

£50 cash - not sure?

Does anyone have an ideas or items they've been lusting after that they can recommend.

I have 5 different Radley bags. And a nice leather jacket and I always but my shoes from Clarks as most shoes rub me Hmm

Thanks x

Don't buy a bag. It sounds like you don't need one at all.

New look...do.you have wide feet? I do and I have some incredibly comfy shoes from their wide fit section.

If I were you I would wait until I had a need in my wardrobe rather than panic buying in the sale I think. You could get a gorgeous winter coat in a few months.

CCS Foot Care range, which Boots sell, is very good and goes a long way, so worth the money.

Try Hotter shoes if looking for comfortable shoes. Some of their styles a bit old fashioned, but they have some classics and even a few retro style shoes.

I think waiting for the new season items is a good idea and perhaps even use the House of Fraser voucher to buy Christmas pressies and then the cash you would have spent, you could spend elsewhere.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going out with my daughter today so will have a look around.
I think it's been helpful to talk about as I'm now definitely not getting a bag.
Writing it down shows i was giving to be panic buying.

If there's nothing you need for the next few weeks, I agree with other posters about waiting for autumn stuff which will start coming in next month. Things I buy in September get worn practically all year round so better value for money. If there isn't much you actually need, I'd be tempted to spend a lot of the cash on one thing that you'll wear loads and that will lift everything else. Personally - but don't rush out and do this or at least not yet - I'm getting a hankering to wear knee high boots again and I bet they'd look great with fit and flare dresses. Get in on a big trend early and you can get years and years of wear (although if you get it wrong you might feel a bit of a tit so it's not risk free!).

You could also get the September issue of Vogue which is the only edition I always buy, not for the clothes which cost squillions, but because it talks about the big trends for the coming season. It'll be out in a couple of weeks.

I think I'd get jewellery with the New Look vouchers because it's always modern and would update whatever else I was wearing.

I use very few beauty products (sensitive skin) so can't really help there other than to say that, in my opinion, the only over the counter skin product that actually does anything is sunscreen and that a separate one is way better than one combined with moisturiser.

Enjoy your spending Smile

Oh and by knee high boots I don't mean the over-the-knee ones that have been around a couple of years. I mean just under the knee, flat (at least for me) - the ones we thought we'd wear forever till ankle boots knocked them off their perch. I miss them. In fact, soon as I get home, I'm going to dig some out.

Foot cream- you need Heel Genius by Soap and Glory. It's unbelievably good. Just putting it on for one night makes a visible difference in the morning; it's amazing.

Are you me Flo? I haven't even put my Spanish riding boots away for summer this year; tan suede seems as wearable, without tights obv, on cool damp summer days as in November or February.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/07/2017 17:12

I still like and wear my knee length boots (not in July though!) although I perhaps love ankle boots even more. I think there can always be room for more boots in one's wardrobe.

Floisme · 11/07/2017 19:10

Right I've just dug out my flat, 'riding boots' from the back of the cupboard and I can honestly say I'd forgotten how fab they are. I am now officially over ankle boots (unless with trousers).

Sorry for derailing op Blush

Urea based footcream from Boots = Flexitol heel balm. Not greasy, not a strong smell and very reasonably priced. Lasts ages.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/07/2017 19:23

Flexitol = wonderful stuff. And here's the nice cheap one from Boots. I use Flexitol for heavy duty and the Boots one for relaxing foot rubs!

OCSockOrphanage · 11/07/2017 20:22

The Margaret Dabbs pedi products now in M&S are very good and smell a bit less medicinal than some of the alternatives.
