Will try and keep this brief!

I have 2 weddings and a baptism to attend over the next 6 weeks. I have limited funds so a budget of just £30 for an outfit to wear to all 3 events.

I'm 36, I'm a carer to my son and SAHM so wardrobe is comfort over style. I haven't got dressed up for a few years. I've recently lost nearly 3 stone and have taken up running so my usual emergency wrap dress doesn't fit me. I'm down to a 16/18 and halfway through my weight loss journey. I have no idea what suits me anymore!

I like my legs better now I've started running and my waist is ok. I have large boobs and I need to work on my arms.

What the hell do I go for?

Hairstyles for all 3 so I look a bit different at each one would be great too seeing as I will be wearing the same outfit. Mid length, naturally wavy hair that's in quite good condition.

I have to go shopping this week and I'm dreading it.

Does anyone have any advice? I can post a headless photo if it helps.

What about something like this?

Arms covered, waist accentuated, boobs flattered. Tiny bit over budget though.

It's £34

best dressed low spenders i know buy selectively at charity shops ...if you have time that is

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/07/2017 22:11

I'd buy something plain (navy?) and spend more money on accessories. Navy and yellow look great - so earrings or necklace plus belt. Maybe coral or orange for wedding 2. I'm thinking if you have a standout dress that would be noticeable memorable to people if they see it more than once, but a plain dress with different accessories may be less incongruous and they'll remember the accessories more. Do you have shoes?

Almostthere15 · 09/07/2017 22:12

What do you already have in the way if accessories. If you get something relatively plain different shoes for the wedding and christening could make it look different.

I would be tempted with hair up for the wedding (dancing in heat) and down for christening. If you go onto youtube something like easy up dos would give you ideas.

Or does anyone have a dress you could borrow, I'm flattered when someone asks me.

Well done so far, it's hard work!

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/07/2017 22:15

This kind of dress (though this is £40ish)

And then something like this? Perhaps you could borrow shoes/bag/jewellery?

Sorry for not replying sooner. Busy day!

I have zero accessories! I like the idea of plain and dressing it up though.

Happy to scour charity shops! We have 2 pretty great ones quite close by actually.

Re borrowing a dress...funnily enough a new friend (just introduced her to running) brought a dress to the school
(still with tags on)and said I could borrow it! That's one day sorted! I think I have lovely friends!

Thank you for the hair advice. I will definitely YouTube for updo ideas.

I have a lot of heels but haven't worn them for quite a while so will need to practise in them Confused

Have you had a look here?
www.everything5pounds.com/

I've had some fab stuff over the years from here,no problems arrives quite quickly too. Things can sell out fast but they add new items everyday.

MrsPear · 10/07/2017 23:58

How about boohoo ?

SesameSparkle · 11/07/2017 00:12

There might be something suitable in your price range in the White Stuff sale. They are pretty good for covering lumps and bumps, but tend towards day dresses in style. Perhaps better for the christening, else dressed up with accessories like pp suggested?
