HELLO all my mummy friends Smile
Every summer, when the time comes to shave above my knees Wink and pay a bit more attention to my bikini line, i keep thinking "There must be an easier way to deal with unwanted hair"!!!!
and every year i keep reading about laser hair removel and wondering if it is a miracle way to get rid of hair as these brands making it sound to be! Hmm
So i turn to you my lovelies, please could let me know if you've used any of these home kits? If so which ones? and million dollar question - did they work?

Is laser and IPL the same thing???Confused

Thank you all in advance!

I have a Philips lumea.
It was worth every penny.
I just spend 5 minutes a day doing a small different bit of me.
I now no longer resemble Mr. Tumnus's sister when undressed.

thank you Smile
what model do you have please? x

I have a Braun IPL Silk Expert, it's fab and most definitely works.

I read something about Lumea that it has to be charged every month or so even if you don't use it or the battery will die?

Found it!:

for this reason alone I wouldn't consider it.

coffeeneeded · 07/07/2017 11:54

What's the likelihood of the Philips lumea being included in Amazon prime day? They're v expensive.

Following because I too would like to find a solution!

NerdyBird · 07/07/2017 11:56

I had a Lumea and it died through non-use. What is the Braun like to use?

DandySeaLioness · 07/07/2017 12:02

Nerdy I've never used a Lumea but I imagine they all work pretty much the same? Braun you can either do the "zaps" yourself or have it zap continuously every couple of seconds. It also has a delicate mode which I never bother with.

BuzzKillington · 07/07/2017 13:32

Well, I'm not your 'mummy friend' but I have a Lumea and it is the dog's bollocks. Thoroughly recommend.

building2017 · 07/07/2017 13:48

I have a smoothskin and it is the bomb. Life feels completely different without constant hair management.

MrsApplepants · 07/07/2017 13:55

I have a lumea. It's amazing! I bought the corded version though, especially to avoid the battery issue, can't see the advantage of a cordless one tbh

PrettyGreyEyes · 07/07/2017 14:44

Can anyone with a Lumea tell me the difference between all the models? They all seem the same just with different model codes.

Onedayoneday · 07/07/2017 14:46

My lumea died too.

minesatelamate · 07/07/2017 15:55

Thank you, very good to read all your comments Smile

I bought a lumea around 6 months ago and used on my underarms as per the schedule and it's made no difference. I've got fair skin and dark hair so supposedly perfect. Wish I'd kept the money and saved extra for proper laser hair removal.

coffeeneeded · 07/07/2017 16:27

Ahhhh. Are there supposedly 'perfect conditions' for the lumea to work? I'm v fair skinned and light haired.

JustDontGetItAtAll · 07/07/2017 17:36

Does anyone have one that works on naturally light blonde hair? X

Wallywobbles · 07/07/2017 19:12

So black body hair and normal skin. Laser treatment works for some better than others and for some parts better than others. I've got one and on my lower legs it's ok.

I've also had it done in a salon:

20 goes on bikini made the hair finer but still present.

20 goes on beard did shit all in the long term.

10 goes on legs pretty satisfactory. About 70% less.

2 goes with a dermatologist and a machine that really effing hurts and it's nearly all gone.

White hairs have to be electrolysised out which is no picnic either.

Honestly I'd go to a pro and not a salon or a home machine. It's more expensive in the short run but it actually works.

Wallywobbles · 07/07/2017 19:13

Just they need dark hair to work.

coffeeneeded · 07/07/2017 19:18

Oh shucks. Thanks all

Haffiana · 08/07/2017 08:45

Lumea. Buy the corded one - the battery charging issue makes the cordless a bad choice

I wouldn't bother with models with special heads, you don't need them, although sometimes they are cheaper.
