Bra size help

If a bra rides up at the back do I need a smaller back band? It was on the loosest hook.

Or maybe go down a cup size?

Have you heard of boob or bust? They have a good calculator on there that gives you your size when you put your measurements in. I was wearing an A cup and turns out I was actually a DD! booborbust.com

cherrylove · 06/07/2017 14:00

I've just gone on booborbust. Tires out I'm a 32F. I usually wear 36C Shock

cherrylove · 06/07/2017 14:00

^turns out

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 14:01

I am a 32dd most of the time and have been fitted properly.

But there is variation in styles. I have to take a 32e in one brand.

This bra i just bought was a 32dd and fitted well but after another try it is looser than normal for a sports bra. Not sure if I want to drop down to a 30 back band which may be uncomfortably tight. Maybe down a half cup to a 32d would work.

I didn't believe it at first so went to get measured at Bravissimo - turns out it was right! They measured by band as a 32 but I found that too right so went up to a 34 and it fits perfect x

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 14:03

For years i wore 34c

Until i got measured and was a 32dd.

It means the band is too big, yes. Does it still climb up if you put it on tightest hook?

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 15:10

I havent tried it on the tightest hook but tbh I dont want to always have to wear it on the tightest hook.

I might try a smaller back size or a smaller cup. Its a sports bra and will support nothing if its too big.

Where did you get measured? A lot of places still do your chest size +4 which is completely wrong now, especially if the band is rising up they might have done that.
I thought I was a 32G. Turns out I'm a 28J Shock

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 15:39

They didnt measure. They say it doesn't really work as well. The lady just brought out loads of different sizes and through trial and error found the best fit which is a 32dd consistently in most things.

Up to an E if the brand comes up smaller or tighter like elle macphersons range which is known for being tighter.

I have never known a 32 band rise up.

It must be this particular style that is on the large size.

If the bra back rides up then I believe the cup is too small and the back may be too big! I was wearing a 36DD got measured the other day and I'm a 34F. My boobs now look great and I feel slimmer! Result!

BusterGonad · 06/07/2017 18:59

Try a 32E. If the cup is too small it'll pull the back up. The back of a bra when you first buy it should be on the last hook and should be tight ish. The front pansy between breasts should touch your breast bone.

Ollivander84 · 06/07/2017 18:59

If the back is riding up then you need to go down a back size, and up a cup size (to compensate in volume)
So from say a 32DD you would need a 30E

BusterGonad · 06/07/2017 18:59

And the bra band should be parallel not on an angle.

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 20:26

Thank you all.

I will try on a 30E and a 32D if I can find them. THe cup isnt too small, in fact it is baggy under the arms. All of the breast tissue is encased and there is extra space.

Just do it up tighter. I do that with my bras that are a 32gg as I'm in between that and a 30H, depending on the time of the month, how much I've been stuffing my face etc. That's the whole point of having more than one set of hooks, so you can adjust the fit as needed eg if you lose a little weight or the bra gives a little with age.

NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 20:57

I thought of that pickachew but it is a brand new bra.

It will give with age and then if I already have to have it on the tightest hook to start with then i cant tighten it anymore when it gives with age.

BusterGonad · 07/07/2017 06:28

If you've bought it on the tightest hook then it's too big, my new one is on the last hook and it's already tight, so when it gives I have another hooks to move to. Does that make sense? I never dreamt I'd be a 34 as I'm not a petit girl but it is very comfy and I feel it's doing its job. If you were measured then take it back complaining, they should exchange it for you even if it's worn as they've made the mistake!

BusterGonad · 07/07/2017 09:18

Another 3 hooks I mean!
