Lash lift

Has anyone had a lash lift? My lashes seem almost non existent. I thought about extensions but don't think I have the time (or the funds) for the maintenance of them.

I'm starting a new job and want to look nice and polished so thought a lash lift might help. Do they ever go wrong? Could my lashes fall out? Blush

I had a lash lift before holiday a few weeks ago and am rebooking to have it done again before summmer hols. It was great and I didn't wear any mascara for around 4 weeks as they tint as well as lift. Salon will do a patch test to check for allergies. Can't imagine why it would go wrong.

Cherrypie, how long is the stuff they put on your lashes sitting on your lashes for? I hate the sensation of people being close to my eyes (can't stand having mascara applied by a makeup artist, for example). I'm worried about it getting in my eyes as well. Did it sting? Does it dry out your lashes?

PolarisStar · 06/07/2017 14:46

I wasn't overly impressed when I had one to be honest.

I have a lash lift before holiday each year. It is no where near as good as extensions but i don't feel like I can handle the faff of them when I'm on holiday and in water a lot. It just means I don't have to apply mascara and curl them every day before the pool. It also means I don't have to worry about mascara running down my face in the heart

I meant heat!

raindrop - they roll your lashes around a foam roller type thing that is put on your eyelids. it is there for about 10-15 mins and feels a bit odd. s like having something heavy on your eyes. not sure you would like it

Thanks everyone. I think I'll give it a go Smile

Theres do's and donts for the lash lift that i found actually make a difference to how long the curl lasts for. No contact lens on the day. Do nothing steamy for 48hrs after having it done, so no hot showers, no ironning with a steam generator iron.

Cherrypie32 · 06/07/2017 18:11

Yes I agree, sensation of having it done is weird as opposed to uncomfortable. It didn't sting my eyes but the chemical they put on smells like it should! You do need to follow the rules and not get your face fully wet, steamy or rub them etc if you can help it but it's nowhere near the faff and maintenance of extensions although obviously the effect is not as dramatic as they are working with what you've got.

Thanks, sweetheart and cherrypie! Haha, I loved typing that. Smile

It looks so nice online but you're right, I would probably hate the way it feels. But still I'm tempted. I know I'd definitely not make it through an eyelash extension application. Eek!

sweetheart · 07/07/2017 15:51

raindrop - it's only like 10-15 mins. Go for it - just tell the beauty therapist that you are a bit nervous and I'm sure they can help you. Great name Cherrypie Wink

15 mins? Nope it's about 40 mins plus.
Get a lift where they use a shield rather than a roller (perm). It gives a better look.
It lasts well. Always get a tint with it. Enhances it so much more.
I love having it.
