Newly Ash blonde/ grey hair - anyone any advice?

I've recently gone from darkish hilighted hair to a lovely ashy shade which I love. However I'm finding maintenance a bit difficult. Hairdresser advised that due to hair being stripped and bleached, it needs to not be washed too often. So I'm washing it about every 5/6 days with Provoke Touch of Silver shampoo, left on for a few minutes in the shower, and followed by the Touch of Silver conditioner. However I'm not sure if they are right for me, I went back to hairdresser yesterday for a toner as it was gone yellow in spots (just 3 weeks since I got it done). How can I maintain it this lovely icy grey shade? Every time I used the Provoke it seemed to make the colour lighter - I want it to stay the shade it is now. Colourist said to keep using the purple shampoo but is there a better one? And should I use some sort of home toner stuff as well? Thanks

I have similar colour and it just doesn't last very long unfortunately. I have very light blonde highlights then an icy toner and that probably lasts 2-3 weeks. Definitely stick with the purple shampoo, my favourite is by Guhl (German brand so not sure if it's available in the uk) but also try the cheapest own brand one you can find as have had good results with those as well.

Try daddy-o from lush

Lee stafford purple shampoo from boots is much better! I used to do my own inbetween toners but no need with this shampoo.

I've just bought Charles worthington max strength violet shampoo from boots and it's brilliant, just don't leave it on too long as you will end up with purple hair Grin

Loreal professional silver is great, or bleach London. My hair is a similar colour and the provoke shampoo doesn't keep it ashy, both of those do though! (Loreal is better but expensive, lasts a long time though).

I find slathering on coconut oil for a few hours before using the silver/purple shampoo and skipping conditioner works better at keeping the yellow at bay.

I second Lee Stafford bleach blonde shampoo from Boots. Leaves hair shiny and neutralises all golden tones. I don't like the Provoke, it's too drying and more blue than purple.

Once a month or so, Bleach London White Toner kit is amazing for getting rid of brassy tones.

I'm a similar blonde and wash my hair every other day.I couldn't go 5 days! Decent conditioners and hair treatments are a must to keep bleached hair in good condition. It needs a lot of extra care.

I bought the l'oreal from Amazon and they sell 1500ml for about £17 which lasts forever (I don't use it every wash).

I use one made by bleach London after trying quite a few it's the best I've found

I have ash blonde hi-lights, and have just started using John Freida Sheer Blonde + the Lee Stafford purpley one 2-3 times a week. So far, so good Smile

I found the Touch of Silver one too drying.

Not a hairdresser but I too long for an ice queen blonde that's not platinum. Your hairdresser will be using a toner to get the ash grey, so the purple shampoo will only be able to maintain it for as long as the toner remains - which on porous highlighted hair is about naff all. In between highlights, I tone mine myself with a pearly/ash colours from a hair supplies shop that are ten a penny in London. I've used Joico ash blonde and L'Oreal Dialight in 10.12 with 6vol and have liked both. I just had a considerable google and did a couple of strand tests beforehand. If that's too much faff you can temporarily stain the blonde by putting on a purple shampoo dry and leaving it for 20 minutes or so.
