Microbladed uneven eyebrows which have blurred and gone grey

user1498645860 · 28/06/2017 12:03

Hello, just looking for anyone who's had a similar, unfortunate experience following their microbladed brows.
I had my eyebrows microbladed 3 weeks ago (she used the machine in the end as she said it would give me the hair stroke look I wanted) and they're awful, I'm so distraught. I researched the lady who I went with, looked at her work online, reviews on FB etc. which was all great but they have gone seriously wrong.
I took a photo in of how I wanted mine to look (hair strokes), she drew them on and I said they were too harsh and dark and she reassured me they were drawn on with black eye brow pencil and they wouldn't be that dark or blocky. Sadly when I sat up they were black and a block of colour and different shapes. She said I had swelling on one side which is why the left one looked bigger and longer and they would fade but they haven't. I went to see her after 3 weeks and she agreed they need removing!!!
There are no visible hair strokes and she said they have blurred but I honestly don't think she drew hairs on as they were black and blocky from when I sat up. They have faded to an off black / grey hue which is nothing like the brown / warm undertone colour we agreed and my natural brown brow hair now looks like it's stuck on between a block of grey colour at the bulb and a black/grey tail.
I've now got to consider going through a painful removal process which will scab and has to be spread out over 4 week periods so my face is going to look a scabby mess for months to come, I'm so stressed and unhappy and cannot believe this has happened to me. Please, please be careful when choosing a technician as mine is supposed to be a trainer as well and has been doing it for at least 3 years. I'm now sure she removes any negative feedback from FB and leaves only the happy client comments.
Has anyone gone through the saline removal route, how successful is it?

Microblading usually takes more than one session through. I'm about to go back for my fourth. With 5 weeks between each session.

It's known that the first go doesn't Properly. Can you show us a picture.

user1498645860 · 28/06/2017 14:28

I know you need a top up 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment but these can't be tweaked, it was my technician who said they need removing so she can start again. I'd upload a photo but don't know how.
Why do you need a fourth top up?

So you get the finish you want OP. Mind are just about there. Just a couple of little bits to go.

PugwallsSummer · 28/06/2017 18:40

I have considered having this done but I'm petrified of having a similar experience. I'm sorry it went wrong for you and hope the removal process is as simple as possible Flowers

user1498645860 · 28/06/2017 20:19

Thank you pugwallsSummer, i still cant believe im in this position as i didnt go for a cheap technician either. Hmm

Anyone considering having their eyebrows done: in my experience, Karen Betts is brilliant. She works from Pontefract in Yorkshire and does sessions in Cheshire (where I go) and down in London.

She tells you how it is and made me look 20 years younger. Worth every penny.

WetsTheFinger · 28/06/2017 20:35

I'd like to say to anyone reading this that microblading looks terrible on everyone. It's like they've been drawn on with a sharpie. Don't do it!

Dailystuck71 · 28/06/2017 20:42

I can categorically confirm mine do not look like they have been sharpied on! I do not do Scouse brow or HD brosws for that very reason.

AgentProvocateur · 28/06/2017 20:46

OP, I don't think yours are anywhere near as awful as you think. I honestly wouldn't give you a second glance (and I mean that in a nice way) if I passed you in the street.

user1498645860 · 28/06/2017 20:57

I messaged Karen Betts today to see if she could fix them but after looking at a number of photos she said she couldn't help me.

I agree they're not as bad as you think, though they're clearly not what you wanted so it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Has the technician offered to pay for the removal, given that she has admitted that they need to be removed?

user1498645860 · 28/06/2017 22:10

Yes she's agreed to do whatever it takes to put them right but I've lost trust and confidence and I don't want to have shabby eyebrows for a week until they heal and the prospect of having to have the removal every 4 weeks until they've sufficiently lightened. I meet a lot of customers in my job and it's embarrassing now never mind covered in angry scabs.

Can you not just let them fade naturally and use an eye pencil to disguise the different colours?

Using think I'd go for the removal as you may well end up with permanent damage.

I must admit I've never seen anyone with microbladed eyebrows that look good even though they think they look fantastic!

WomblingThree · 29/06/2017 13:27

Can you do the opposite of whatever you are supposed to do to look after them and make them fade quicker?

user1498645860 · 29/06/2017 14:21

I'm using a brown eyebrow pencil at the moment to blend them but it's not ideal and after spending £400 I didn't expect to be spending double the time on a morning colouring them in. I agree FeiYenKansu that there's probably too much risk associated with removal and I'm moving away from that suggestion and I haven't spoken to anyone who's had it done so reluctant to be a guinea pig.
I've tried scrubbing them WomblingThree to exfoliate the skin but the pigment is well and truly in there now :(

Have you tried the saline removal and has it worked? I had mine done a few days ago and am devastated. I see the hair strokes but they are so dark and look ridiculous. I want to have them remove asap. Also, the shape is too large for my small face.

VioletPeggs · 07/08/2017 00:06

I'm too scared of this although I love the idea of it.

user1498645860 · 07/08/2017 11:29

I had a test patch of the saline removal process on a small area and decided not to proceed as it wasn't very effective and the pigment is still there with a small pink scar which I'm hoping will heal over time. The saline removal is too invasive as she scraped the top layer of skin off with the tattoo gun and inked in the saline solution as well as layering it on the open wound before wiping it off. It bled and scabbed and took 3 weeks for the scab to fully fall off and its now very pink underneath and the pigment is still visible although a fraction lighter. Definitely not a viable option for large sections of microbladed brows as you will have scarring of some degree.

I have complained to my technician as it's now 2 months since they were originally done and they are still a blurred dark grey, non natural colour and totally asymmetrical which is simply unacceptable. She has given me a full refund and I'm now trying to find an advanced technician who can help and not make it worse.
Anyone considering microbladed brows please be careful as my technician was Elite qualified and had 5* reviews and great photos of previous work - once they're done and you look in the mirror for the first time and don't like what you see they don't wash off......

I've spoken with a woman who has been in the field for 20 years. She assures me that the saline removal is safe and leaves no scarring if you properly care for your skin after the procedure (no picking). She said it may take only a few procedures to remove the color from my microbladed eyebrows. She said for some it may take longer depending on the product used and how deep they went into the skin. Sometimes it doesn't fade. Sometimes the color changes. Sometimes the color migrates.
The product used in my eyebrows only had glycerin, iron oxides and alcohol in it. The woman I spoke to said "thank god it's not regular tattoo ink." She assured me the color from the current microbladed procedure would also fade after a week, then after a month even more. I don't like the color or shape. I am going to get rid of it. My eyebrows are falling out due to medical condition and I would much rather paint them on every day.

There is One more thing I forgot to mention. She said I have to wait about 4 weeks after the mictombade procedure. It could even be 6 weeks. Then, after she does each saline procedure, I have to wait another 4-6 weeks. I would rather have it done now and get it over with than have to wait another couple of years to have it completely fade. She also said to be skeptical of anyone that says they will remove right after a botched microblade job. That can leave scarring

user1498645860 · 05/01/2018 14:14

Nano99 just reading my post and saw your message, did you go ahead with the saline removal as I didn't pick mine at all just kept it clean and dry but it still took 3 weeks to heal and there is still pigment there.

I can see looking at your photo that the left one is slightly thicker at the centre and longer. I still struggle to understand how 'technicians' think customers / clients would be happy with semi permanent asymmetrical eyebrows, definitely a procedure I will never repeat again.
