Help me fix my face!

I am getting seriously depressed with my skin Sad
I am 30 and still have constant breakouts. I cannot remember the last time I had a completely clear face!
The spots tend to break out mainly on the left side of my face (for some reason) and are a combination of blackheads and pimples. Some are just blocked pores (but don't get blackheads) just lots of little bumps but when squeezed will produce white stuff (sorry if tmi!).
I am just so fed up of it. No products I have tried seem to work but the Dr doesn't deem it severe enough to prescribe me anything.

What do you use? What's your best recommendations?

I have combination skin. But more oily on t-zone and chin not so much on my cheeks but they do still get spots on.

Please help me fix my face!

Do you ever sit with your hand on your face? What do you do differently left v right side of the face?

Londonbum · 27/06/2017 20:14

Hmm weird question but are you on the phone a lot? When I used to work on a phone helpline I got break outs on the right side of my face because that was the 'phone' side...

I work in a school office some there is some phone work but not a lot. I do answer it on my left side though?
Otherwise I don't tend to do anything differently with that side of my face as far as I'm aware!
Meant to add most of the products I've tried are high street products but am getting so annoyed by it I'm happy to pay the money to find a decent remedy!

Go to the drs and see if you can get some antibiotics medication to clear it up,
The tablets worked for me through clearing up the infection. I wish I would have done it sooner.
Otherwise see a dermatologist.

Which side do you sleep on? Change pillow case often?

Lottie991 · 27/06/2017 20:48

Oh and don't know if you wear it but certain ingredients in make up can case spots.

Beevor · 27/06/2017 20:52

Go and see a decent beauty therapist, preferably one who works with dermalogica and discuss the problem with them. A good cleansing routine with decent product should sort this out.

I would also check what side you sleep on and are you using a fresh pillow case/flipping your pillow each night?

My daughter found the Murad range quite good, but once she went to the GP and started an antibiotic and a topical treatment that bleached her sheets, her spots cleared up!

I can sympathise. I have always had spot prone skin, usually nothing terrible but my skin is never completely clear. I just seem to be quite oily, even now at almost 40 !

About 2 years ago I had a really bad breakout along my jawline, worse on left side. I found that the neutrogena clear skin products with salicylic acid in helped but eventually I just insisted my gp prescribed me something as they were leaving marks on my skin. She gave me Duac which is a gel you put on overnight. I could see the difference in a week and after a few weeks no more spots coming out. Apparently it kills the acne bacteria.

I think they were worse on my left side because I tend to sleep on my left so I change my pillowcase every other day. I also wipe my mobile phone when I remember as I read that can cause spots and I now use Simple clear skin face wipes and my skin is much better.

Good luck. I'm hoping that when I hit the menopause I might be spot free.....although then I will have wrinkles !
