Can anyone recommend a good and not too expensive shampoo for very dry, thick, curly and over straightened, frizzy hair please?

L'Oréal Elvive extraordinary oil shampoo & conditioner for dry/damaged hair. It's working wonders on my thick frizzy hair.

400ml bottles are £2.20 each in Savers, 2x250ml bottles is usually £4 in Asda

Watching this with interest...

Not washing as much as possible and finger brushing quite thoroughly before brushing have made a big difference to mine.

I like ghd heat protection and ogx shampoo and conditioners. Keith Murphy s & c and kerastese masks if I'm feeling flush

I've tried that elvive one and it made my scalp so greasy so quickly ☹️

This stuff www.notino.co.uk/milk-shake/integrity-nourishing-shampoo-for-all-types-of-hair/?item=556897&gclid=CMeA5fvY3tQCFSIz0wod5ncFlg

The bottle is huge. It does not foam and you only need a £1 size amount. Although it is not cheap it lastest for ages.

The milk_shake range is absolutely unbelievable. I use the whipped cream. Expensive, but really worth every penny.

Tresseme dry and damaged

I posted similar a while ago. I did a lot of research but ended up going for RedKen Extreme shampoo, conditioner and the anti-snap. It's already made a huge difference to my hair's condition, along with careful drying, brushing etc. I've got it for about £10 a bottle. I defo use less and am happy to pay it now i see the difference.

Pureology is amazing if you don't mind spending a bit more money Smile

Redken extreme (blue bottle)
Best stuff ever,
Better than oil
I've tried everything

My hair is bleached to within an inch of its life and is still silky soft

slinkysaluki · 27/06/2017 22:10

Tresemme keratin smooth is really good. I have thick coarse dry hair and it works a treat.

Maybe try washing with conditioner (silicone free) and then conditioning with lots of conditioner (also silicone free). All shampoo tends to have ingredients that dry out hair and conditioner often has added silicone to make it shine, but a build up of these ingredients can make it look awful after a while. You'd need to wash well with a clarifying shampoo first to get rid of all the build up - or you can use a little washing up liquid, but remember to condition really well afterwards.
