Jury service clothing for size 20 - help!

I'm going in jury service at the end of July and although I have some smart clothes I don't think I've got enough to see me through and they tend to be really bright! I could also do with new clothes for work anyway.

So please can you help me find some reasonably cheap smart clothes to wear?

I'm a size 20, big bum and boobs so always struggle to know what looks right for smart clothing.

There's no dress code, wear what you want. Jeans, flip flops, business suit, bin liner, whatever. Take a book though, there's plenty of hanging around.

And you may not be selected anyway, IME they bring in a large pool of potential jurors. Also, sometimes trials get cancelled or postponed and you're sent away.

Wear what you normally doSmile

Agree, I've done it and people wore whatever. However you say you need new clothes anyway so definitely a good excuse for a new wardrobe

Whatever you like, but layers because the temperature of the jury room unpredictable - stifling hot more likely than cold though.

I think wearing a linen top would work. You can pair this with trousers. Or try a tunic top. M and S should have something. Try and find A Line dresses or roomy cocoon dresses which will keep you cool.

Agree with PPs-there really is no dress code (obviously a t-shirt saying, 'Fuck the System' wouldn't go down well) so wear what you feel comfortable in. Something layered would probably be good so if it is hot you won't feel uncomfortable.

I think I wore a trouser suit both times but only because I was working at the time. The women usually dressed smartish (two African ladies wore their national style dresses and elaborate headwear) but the guys tended to wear shirt and trousers/jeans including the rancid minger who boasted to all and sundry that he wears the same underpants all week!

Thanks all

Sorry I should have said it's for an inquest hence my comment about bright clothes.

It absolutely doesn't matter what you wear. Last month I wore harem jersey trousers, striped tee shirt, cardigan and trainers, and I felt overdressed. Go for comfort.
