Sandals for those whose feet blister when you just look at them

I have the softest feet that blister with any pressure on them and live in Sketchers or the like. But when it's hot, my feet (and the rest of me) is boiling.

Any suggestions of sandals pretty please? Oh and they have to have a back to them as I'm not allowed slip on ones at work!

Don't ask for much, do I? Grin

You don't need different shoes, you need the blister stick from boots.

My feet are like this too. The best sandals are some I bought from White Stuff last year. They dont have exactly the same style in stock this year, but these look like they wont rub and there are lots of comments about how soft the leather is. Not the most fashionable, but who cares?

wineoclockthanks · 19/06/2017 19:52

I've tried it thanks Lapin, didn't work.

I like those onthehighseas but they're out of stock in my size!

my friend bought some silver Gabor sandals and says they are the most comfortable ever - from Jones about 80 quid

wheresmyphone · 19/06/2017 20:03

I have just tried strappy FitFlops. Really comfy.

annandale · 19/06/2017 20:05

Socks with sandals. Sorry.

EvenFlo2 · 19/06/2017 20:06

Like you, my feet blister just at the sight of sandals. I've tried loads of expensive shoes but ended up blistered. But I recently bought a £4 pair of fake rubber Birkenstocks (think they call them aqua or something like that) from primark and they are pure heaven!!

vitaminC · 19/06/2017 20:29

I bought these a few weeks ago and they are really soft and comfortable - even on the first wear!
I'm on my feet most of the day at work and can happily wear these for a full day with no pain or blistering.

Mrs9C · 19/06/2017 22:27

What about menorcan sandals?

Onthehighseas · 19/06/2017 23:14

HOF have got everything in stock other than tan in a 7. Please dont tell me that's what you were after Grin

I have a pair of very clumpy Art Co sandals that I haven't blistered with but I don't tend to wear them all the time. I too can't look at sandals without blistering and when people suggest birkenstocks my feet scream in anticipated agony... don't even get me started on flip flops

Deemail · 19/06/2017 23:22

I live in sketchers too but recently invested in some Reiker sandals and some Gabor mules both are so comfy.
I find mules in general best for no blisters, I can't wear flip flops as I get a blister between my toes.

Hotter Tourist sandals have been a revelation for me this summer. I'm normally hobbling around with welts and blisters at every point that sandals touch my feet.

They're so comfortable and they don't move at all on my feet even when I've walked for miles in them. No blisters, no achy feet from trying to hold them on with my toes as I walk, enough lift in the heel to make them easy on the ankles. The downside is that they're not at all fashionable, but my feet don't allow for style.

madmomma · 20/06/2017 01:07

Have a look at strive and geox.

Hulder · 20/06/2017 01:37

Another vote for Hotter.

HidingFromDD · 20/06/2017 01:43

Just bought these
m.johnlewis.com/geox-vega-leather-sandals-champagne/p/3257886
For walking round nyc. Feels like my feet are wrapped in fluffy clouds....and usually by day 3 of a holiday I'm covering everything in plasters and hobbling painfully

VintagePerfumista · 20/06/2017 07:10

I have bought my first sandals in about 15 yrs.

Solillas- Menorcan ones. Amazing. (I have corns Blush revolting bashed big toes, and plantar fasciitis, yet these are perfect)

I think, with sandals, you have to be prepared to pay a bit more. Hotter, Ecco, Geox, etc etc. Some designs are awful, but some are fine. ( and after all there is nothing more old-fashioned than the revolting Saltwater-5-yr-old-in-the-1970s style that everyone on MN raves about- I'm sure if Hotter/Ecco said their shoes were Saltwater, the MN mammies would all be in them Wink)

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 20/06/2017 07:16

I love the Clarks White gladiator type. They bring out a new style every year but they are always extremely comfortable leather and lightly padded on the sole. I can do miles on them. They are also quite attractive - unlike the saltwater ones which are fugly imo. Usually around £50.

I dread to think about how much I've spent on sandals and shoes that have mangled my feet over the years 😢
I have narrow, high-arched feet and quite honestly Hotters are the only ones I can wear straight from the box. Ok, there's prettier ones but I'm going for comfort nowadays (and sorry Compeed, I don't need your blister plasters anymore!)

QueenLaBeefah · 20/06/2017 08:03

VintagePerfumista - would you say the Solillas was true to size? I'd love a pair but would have to buy them online.

VintagePerfumista · 20/06/2017 08:41

Me too Queen- I am a generous 7/41 and I ordered 41 because I read on here that they "give". They fit me perfectly immediately, whereas often I have to hobble round waiting for shoes to mold to me, so I'd say they are true-to-size but a bit generous (great for me who is somewhere probably between a 7 and a 7.5- in cheap shoes definitely a 7.5)

VintagePerfumista · 20/06/2017 08:42

The most generous bit of them is the slingback bit. I can imagine in a smaller foot that might be a bit loose if not sized right iyswim?

bruffin · 20/06/2017 08:47

Sanuk yoga sandals.

bruffin · 20/06/2017 08:49

link to sanuk yoga slings liads of colours available if you search.

moutonfou · 20/06/2017 08:53

I've always avoided sandals for the same reason, but got some Accessorize ones for a wedding last year and am surprised how wearable they are. I'm wearing them today!
