Any success stories for oily skin and open pores?

Am post-menopausal and my skin looks terrible (always has actually - teenage acne). I've finally realised that moisturiser is probably not a good idea and have started on the Paula's Choice BHA stuff. Now looking into chemical peels, but am I kidding myself that I can ever have nice skin? Just caught sight of myself in a mirror in bright sunlight and nearly fainted in horror at how rough I looked. Has anyone with similar skin managed to significantly improve things?

Slightly different list to what they said to me, although i suppose it depends on what you asked them for.

I think its just trial and error for everyones skin.

La Roche Posay Effaclar range. I've always had oily skin but after I had my 2.5 year old ds it went bananas! Spots literally covering my face like little rash like bumps... really the worst ever. So I tried the Effaclar wash, and the moisturiser and can honestly say my skin texture is so much better. Its still oily but much much clearer and the range is not too expensive and can be bought in Boots.
