Mulberry Tessie Hobo

Does anyone have one of these bags?

I have always liked them but it's quite an old style and I don't think they are being made any more.

Someone I know is selling one. I can't see it before buying as the seller lives some way away. But she has sent me photos and I know the bag is genuine.

If you have one, how do you find it in terms of style, size and comfort/practicality? The colour is oxblood by the way. Thanks.

I have this bag and it has been my everyday bag for 18 months. It is made from lovely soft leather and I reckon it's a more casual style than most of the others. It's perfect for my needs- phone, wallet, keys, random Lego crap and can take an umbrella/ wipes with ease. My only criticism would be that the corners are definitely showing wear and there is fading where I imagine the bag folds due to it's slouchyness (made up word?) Saying that, it's been sorely tested and I still love it- mine's oxblood too. I've had a look at the Mulberry sale, but most of the current styles are too structured for my taste. If you are happy with the photos and don't want to put an iPad in it for work I'd go for it!

Thank you lift Is it quite big, it's difficult to tell from the photos. I am only 5'3" and don't like huge bags that swamp me.

As an alternative, I am also considering a Mulberry Lily in black with silver hardware. I know it's a very different type of bag, I just can't decide. The Lily would be much more expensive, the seller wants £350 for the Tessie.

I have it in oxblood too. I bought it online from the Mulberry store and initially planned to send it back as it's much slouchier than the official photos suggest. But I decided to keep it and love it now. I got a bag organiser just to give it a little more structure. I use it more than my tan Bayswater satchel because it feels less formal.

I do tend to carry lots in my bags, especially books so the hobo style works better for me than something like the Lily. Hope you love whichever one you decide to go for!

I love the older styles in Mulberry. The darwin leather was so much nicer than the newer leathers imho and the older styles have so much more character.
I don't have this one but I've had various older style Mulberry. I say go for it!
Also a good handbag restorer or leather repair place can easily fix any colour issue. £350 seems a bit steep though.

There are a couple of excellent FB groups for Mulberry lovers where bags like this (only genuine, authentic ones!) are sold for much less.

So it's quite big if it holds books etc?

Does the folded down bit unfold to access it and then fold down again?

I have a Lily and it's not an everyday bag for me as it's too boxy and doesn't sit under my arm nicely like the Tessie does. It's beautiful but slightly impractical and even with an organiser, things tend to fall out of it.
The Handbag clinic can take care of scuffing/colour issues (although it's not cheap)
You're paying half price, which is pretty good if it's in decent nick.

I have the Tessie hobo in oxblood ... only got it (from Mulberry) in September last so had no idea it was discontinued until I read your op!

Love it. It's comfortable to carry, holds what I need it to hold and is perfect for me. Being oxblood, I see it as a winter bag as opposed to year round but maybe that's just me.

Was at Mulberry concession yesterday in HoF and now have my sights set on a Lily in Oak as my next purchase!
