How to get nice hair?

I have thick, brown hair, medium length (halfway down breasts) hair. I wash and blow dry every two days, but it always needs brushes every half an hour, even when I straighten it. It's also quite flat. What can I do/use to make it neater and just generally nicer? Any tips helped Smile

I have good hair. Same length or slightly shorter.

I never blow dry and do not own or use any hair products.

I am Indian. I oil my hair with an Indian coconut oil overnight once a week.

Dove shampoo and conditioner next day. Leave to dry.

I don't sweat at all. If very hot I'll shampoo mid week and condition.

Brush morning and night. It stays black sleek untangled and shiny 7 days a week.

You an try out a hair mask I use. It's made of whole avocado, a bit of olive oil and a yolk. Leave it during the nigh and just wash it well in the morning. Hair grows faster and it's very shiny. I do this once a month.

How do you sleep with egg avocado and oil in your hair? Just curious as I wish to try

When you put in conditioner, comb it through and leave for 30 seconds so it has a chance to penetrate. Intensive treatments will also help make it smoother for longer - in shower, overnight, or after washing.

To add volume & body to hair that doesn't naturally have it, you need product. I use mousse (Boots own brand) and volumising spray (Aveda) before blowdrying. And after then straighteners for sleek, maybe with some oil smoothed over, or a powder like Aveda Pure Abundance for messier/big hair.

A good cut and regular trims will help a lot. i have very thick, wavy hair which gets styled every day and washed every other day. Mine was halfway down my back and tended to frizz if left though I now have it just below shoulder length and find it much more manageable.

I use Bumble & Bumble heat protector when wet, with a bit of styling cream combed through, rough dry then style with ghds. I never brush it when it's dry. Try also Kiehls intensive conditioner for five mins every week or so. It's pricey but it's a huge tub and you only need a tiny amount so it lasts for months.
