My Pinterest is full of 20 something sylphs, so in an effort to get more realistic I typed 'middle aged woman stylish' into google. The results have made me want to weep.

I like My Fashionable Forties - she wears a lot of similar stuff to things I wear.

EarlessToothlessVagabond · 12/06/2017 18:38

I'm going to try that now Amy, just to see. The 20 something's on Pinterest all look like they have rickets anyway.

SpiritedLondon · 12/06/2017 18:40

Well you could go the whole hog and look at Advanced Style!

AmyBrookheimer · 12/06/2017 18:42

I've just looked at her blog and found it baffling! I'm crap at reading blogs, they always seem really poorly laid out.

Wow, Advanced Style is fabulous! That's made me really happy. 'Sarah' on the home page is just amazing.

I wish I was stylish. I don't do frumpy stuff, but I'd really like to have an actual sense of individual style.

I know what you mean about personal style. I always feel very safe and sensible and would love to be more individualistic. Check out Linda Rodin or Beatrix Ost who I love. ( I have lots of these people on
my Pinterest so if you want more names let me know)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/06/2017 19:03

Love Linda R - it must help to be beautiful in one's youth though, to look so amazing in older age. I have never been anywhere near beautiful.

Floisme · 12/06/2017 19:06

I don't bother with blogs or magasines any more - as far as I'm concerned, they're all just PR. I'd rather get my ideas watching people when I'm out and about. I often see women my age and older who have great style and I don't live anywhere remotely fashionable.

AmyBrookheimer · 12/06/2017 19:06

Wow, those women look fab. They're both greatly helped by being slim and having marvellous bone structure though, I've got a meaty face, a short neck and I'm size 16. It's like dressing a ham.

I like That's Not My Age BUT it does read like a broadsheet column i.e. no particular sense of humour. But I do like the clothes.

AmyBrookheimer · 12/06/2017 19:07

I don't see women like that Flo, unfortunately!

Floisme · 12/06/2017 19:08

They're there, I promise you!

ElspethFlashman · 12/06/2017 19:10

Well there's always Poppy's Style. She's not sylph like. Her style is a bit Marmite though - she's wildly popular but it's not for me.

AmyBrookheimer · 12/06/2017 19:13

My eyes! Yes, I don't think Poppy's Style is for me either.

I'd better go and do dinner but here's one more

They've moved on to " what lies beneath" but they have lots of videos of people showing their wardrobes. It's addictive you can easily lose an evening watching them.

QueenofEsgaroth · 12/06/2017 19:28

I miss Bill Cunningham for this reason (and his fabulous eye), he never judged anything but style and there was always a broad age range to his work. The NYTimes still has his column catalogued online for some immediate cheer.
