How do you keep your cuticles nice?

I know there's been lots of threads about nails, but I find that no matter what I do my cuticles are always raggedy. Any suggestions as to what to do/use? How do you keep your cuticles from drying out and being scruffy?

Same and I've tried Solar Oil, some stuff from Boots and Vaseline. They'd always look scraggy and I hate wearing nail polish as they look messy. I know I'm bad at wearing gloves for washing up or cleaning, maybe that?

This is fantastic for keeping cuticles soft and hydrated.

I also use flexitol on my toe cuticles when they become a bit dry, works a treat.

I use a Sally Hansen cuticle eraser balm. It's green and white. I rub it in and leave for five mins then snip cuticles with one of those metal trimmer things, and push back with an orange stick.

My cuticles are great. I wear nail polish a lot & change it regularly & often forget to use washing up gloves. Hand cream. Simple, vegetable oil based hand cream. Steer completely clear of anything with mineral oil, petroleum oils etc. Use it regularly, rub it in especially around the nails. Use it generously before bed as often as possible, & if you're putting on gloves in winter (regularly wash the gloves!) Use after you wash your hands, every time (so have a small tube in your bag).

Same treatment for feet (plus socks over the cream) is fab for scabby rough feet. It's fabulously sexy to wear socks in bed though... Grin

Fluffycloudland77 do you just rub it in? Or do you push back and trim as well?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2017 20:14

Never trim, you just dab it on & leave it overnight. You can ease them back gently.

I push mine back in the bath, shower or the steam room - so basically, every day. Once in a while, I use a cuticle cream.

I slather on hand cream (Clarins) at night and use Flexitol on my feet every day.

I have very dry skin and have to look after my cuticles or I get horrible hang nails. The best product I have found is the cuticle and skin gel by Nailtiques. It's not cheap but a little jar will last for ages and makes a difference very quickly. It's also fab for dry, cracked heels.

Fluffy- what's the difference between Cuticle Away and Cuticle Eraser?

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2017 06:36

Cuticle away is professional use only, it's for use pre-enhancement/shellac to remove true cuticle.

Cuticle eraser is safe to use 2 X a day at home, it's flipping amazing at removing the dead skin from the around the eponynichium. If you've got thick skin around the nails it sloughs it all off.

Thank you Smile
