A shaving/razors question. (Slightly tmi)

In particular for pubic hair...
Does anyone have any tips for shaving and not coming up in red spots?
Certain razors seem to leave me with red sore spots and I'm trying to figure out why.
I'm trying using different combos of shaving foam, razors, moisturiser etc to try work out what causes it but would appreciate any tips.

I epilate my bikini line and recently started using tend skin which I got from Amazon. It smells horrendous but has wrought a miracle! I didn't realise how bumpy the skin was till it was better.

Put it on a cotton wool pad and wipe it over the area morning and night till it's gone. Stung slightly when I used it after epilating but not much.

Should have said, it's mainly for razor burn/rash but works really well for epilating as well.

I read somewhere, but I haven't tried it, that razors that are for men are better. The ones with 5 blades. Because they're designed for the face they are more sensitive and friendlier on the bikini area.

Use hair conditioner for shaving.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't use men's razors as they're too sharp, cut too close to the skin and can give you ingrown hairs? I used to use them though.

My favourite combo is cheap conditioner and cheap disposables. On my legs though lol

Tend skin or another salicylic or acid pad afterwards (I like the Nip & fab ones). Keeps the skin exfoliated so the hair is less likely to get trapped.

I also use veet instead with the Philips laser zapper thingy every few weeks to keep regrowth down. I do the same on legs but pre shave with a men's Mach 3 blade & gilette women's sensitive shave gel first.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I don't think these are trapped hairs as they come up soon after shaving (within minutes).
I use good razors and have tried shaving foam, oil and conditioner but I still get them.

I had this for months and someone said it was the perfume in soaps and moisturisers. I switched to sanex zero which has no perfume at all, and it hasn't happened since.
