Need some hard-wearing jeans urgently!

My last pair of trousers have gone at the inner thigh. I am truly buggered. Went round town today and all I could see were stretchy skinnies, which I find fall down, get baggy and wear out really quickly, or rigid denim, which would be ideal only they all have holes in them, stupid frayed hems etc.

I'm a 14 \ 16 atm but don't want to spend much as I'm starting back with Slimming World next month after having DC2 and am aiming to get to a 12 again. But I'm desperate and frustrated and grumpy.

Max budget of £30 and would like to buy online so I can try on a few sizes at home. Don't enjoy the process in changing rooms so much!

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks for that. I don't think that high rise waists are going to be any good at the moment. Three months after giving birth and still have a big ol' baby belly. Too big to stuff into jeans currently, so am just flopping it over waistbands Blush
Should have mentioned that in my original post, sorry.

I just bought Next slim jeans, which are really flattering. They aren't as thin and stretchy as a lot of the jeans about now. I'm 14/16 too.

I have some M&S slims jeans that are good and sturdy.

I'm also going to suggest marks and Spencer's. The peruna range are good. Generously cut etc and cheap!

Gap! If you register with your email you'll get loads of offers, the current offer I have takes a £45 pair down to £26. The 'true straight' cut are my fave, they do in a mid rise too. I'm a solid 16 and love these!

i like dorothy perkins jeans, i find them pretty decent wearing

I go to somewhere expensive, try on JBrand and then get my size for around £30 on eBay. They are phenomenal.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

Plenty of food for thought. I bought a pair of (rather unflattering) jeans from a charity shop yesterday to tide me over until payday, at which point I'll get shopping Grin

I have a couple of pairs of Next jeans (about 2 years now) they wear really well but I don't wear them all the time because there's a zip+2 buttons and I need a belt because after a couple of hours they start to creep down my bum Blush. So I need to plan ahead when I need the loo.

Tesco are worth a look, I've had some good , hard wearing jeans from there (and now I buy DS jeans there, only place I can find his 28" waist 32" leg fit)

efilparsnip · 10/06/2017 07:18

70isaLimitNotaTarget Thanks for that. Will definitely try Tesco. Find jeans creeping down so irritating!
My mum raves about Next jeans but I can't get on with them. The last pair lost their shape altogether! Too high a spandex \ lycra \ whatever in that pair for me I guess.

I am same size as you and get the same problem. I know at full price they are more expensive but has anybody tried fatface jeans?

Mouthfulofquiz · 10/06/2017 07:51

I just bought a pair from Sainsbury's for 16£, dark denim girlfriend cut. They are really nice and not skinny. I'm a 12 -14 but bought a 14 so that they would be really comfortable while I try and shift a bit of bulk round the middle! (3 babies worth!)

I've ordered some jeans from Tesco that should be here in a couple of days. They were in the sale so fingers crossed!
