Eyebrows - opinions please

My natural eyebrows are light blonde, fairly thick but virtually invisible. I groom them with an eyebrow trimmer thingy. This is how I currently "style" them. Completely drawn on with an Avon blonde eyebrow pencil with some face powder over the top to set them. I've tried many things but find it difficult to get a good fair colour and one that lasts.

Please give me your honest opinions. Do I look like an idiot. Any recommendations welcome. Thanks!

Another tip is to brush them with an eyebrow brush before and after you've added your colour to really blend it in. Loads of eyebrow tutorials on You Tube and they all do this.

Wow that's a great improvement! Did you have eyeliner on in the first pic and not in the second? If so, ditch the eyeliner, your eyes look gorgeous without it.

Nospringflower · 10/06/2017 23:34

Yes i wasnt keen on the eyeliner in the first picture especially with the thin brows. 2nd pic you look great!

Ohyesiam · 10/06/2017 23:35

You look good op

Ummmmgogo · 10/06/2017 23:41

your make up in the first picture is average. not bad, but not great.

I love the second picture, it's so much more flattering, and it's the style that is currently very fashionable. I like the colour of your eyes too.

your eyebrows don't look naff in either picture but I prefer picture 2.

Monkeyface26 · 10/06/2017 23:45

They are much better in the second picture. Really nice shape. It might be worth experimenting with an ashier shade of pencil - that colour is quite warm for your skin tone/blue eyes.

Hi all

Thanks for your advice and your very kind words re my eyebrows Flowers

I do agree that having them done professionally would look better. It's not just that, I often think it'd be wonderful to not have to draw them on everyday! (First world problem)

I use a spooly and powder as well as the eyebrow pencil to brush through and set the brows. I will definitely investigate an ashier coloured pencil.

Re eyeliner, it's a look I've grown out of but I sometimes wake up and think it's 1996 🤣🤣 I still wear heather shimmer lipstick too.

For those who get their eyebrows done professionally, how often do you need to go to the salon? There are a couple of places locally that do brows so will investigate.

Thanks again!

Too thin. No arch

CherylVole · 11/06/2017 06:55

I don't like powder or pencils any more. The Laura mercies gel and a slanted brush is better www.lauramercier.com/brows/brow-definer-12337475.html?gclid=CL3wzuv0yssCFY17fgodJ4IEGw

The second shape looks nicer but go for an ashier colour.

Mamia15 · 11/06/2017 15:48

Dye these yourself - it only takes a minute or two using a home kit (I used eyelure). It really does make a difference.

NImbleJumper · 12/06/2017 09:13

Yes, I agree, Mamia - you get a natural look because all you're doing is dying your own hair (I use dark brown as I'm very fair), rather than colouring in. But then I really find the fashion for these heavily drawn in brows to be rather ugly, and certainly tasteless - quite the opposite of looking "expensive" or stylish, which seems to be a regular question here - how to look groomed or "expensive."

villainousbroodmare · 12/06/2017 09:22

You fox! Second pic is lovely. Try doing a tint in brown. Eyebrows take colour fast so if you do it at home, leave it on only a very short time. You can always repeat if it's not defined enough. The first day post-tint always looks a bit heavy as the skin inevitably gets tinted too.
