Foundation recommendations

I like full coverage foundations and go between Estée Lauder double wear, dermacol and dermablend, I think my lightest coverage is doll10 hydragel. Recently I'm finding my skin looks dry so I'm keen to try something new.
Thanks to rubbish skin I need decent coverage but I think I need something less matte when it's on.
Any recommendations for s good coverage, non drying foundation for a 34yrs old that resembles a ghost?

I'm very pale and also a Double Wear fan, but recently true L'Oreal total cover matte in porcelain. (Picked up on a whim to make up a 3-for-2).

I'm really impressed by it. Lasts all day, doesn't change colour, and you only need a tiny amount. I apply it with a stippling brush, and then just set it with a tiny bit of powder.

wuckfittery · 07/06/2017 09:08

Tried, not true

wuckfittery · 07/06/2017 09:10

Oh, and despite the matte name, it doesn't look flat, although I think they may do a non matte version.

CremeDeSudo · 07/06/2017 10:24

Marking place as I'm also looking out for new foundation with the same requirements.

I'm using L'Oreal Infalliable Total Cover at the mo. It's great coverable, stays on all day and I like the finish. What I don't like however is that it comes off on my fingers!

I've been recommended No7 Beautifully Matte so was considering giving that a go next..

I have very dry skin and double wear was horrible on my skin. I've tried loads and the best for my dry skin is Rimmell lasting finish 25 hour. It's quite moist and leaves a dewy finish.

RossGellersteeth · 07/06/2017 11:34

Sorry meant to say, it's full coverage.

CaptainWarbeck · 07/06/2017 12:14

I really like Revlon Colour Stay. They go really pale and have two formulations, one for oily and one for dry. The coverage is really good and buildable too.

I used to use Doublewear and switched to this.

I love Double Wear, but absolutely hate No7 foundations! Their DW equivalent is rubbish.
I have an absolute cheek to be saying this, as I'm the world's worst for not drinking enough fluids, but worth considering that your skin will look dry irrespective of foundation brand, if you're not properly hydrated.
My sister's skin was recently looking dry on DW, but she upped her water intake, and it helped.
Worth a shot!

Topsyloulou · 07/06/2017 14:11

My friend recommended no 7 beautifully matte when I was on the hunt for a new full cover foundation and I have to say I've been very impressed. I've always found their foundations a bit hit & miss but this is great. Good even coverage that lasts well, don't need to apply too much. It's a matte finish but not drying, doesn't show the dry patches or the oily patches. Good value too, particularly if you get the money off vouchers.

ChesterFuckingDraws · 07/06/2017 14:54

Thank you for all the recommendations I'll have a look into them.
I try to drink about 2.5-3L of water a day, but not religiously, I'll need to make sure I do it every day.
I work shifts and this morning I looked liked a troll when I came home and was getting ready for bed!

I just managed to get my hands on the Ordinary Serum foundation in 1.0NS, perfect for my very pale skin, and applied with a flat topped brush, gives excellent coverage.

theordinary.com/shadeguide

£6.95 RRP but they are sold out, I however managed to find an unopened one on eBay so paid a couple of pounds more. I don't think I'll ever use anything else now (usually Bobbi Brown Alabaster)

They do a coverage one too but I haven't tried that.

ChesterFuckingDraws · 07/06/2017 15:10

I've got the Ordinary foundations-both the serum and coverage one. I'm not overly impressed! The colour is good for my pale skin but just not keen on the finish/longevity or them. I'll probably use them up on days off when I'm not doing much but they wouldn't hold up for a work/busy day.

I can recommend the No7 Beautifully Matte and colour matching too. I've recently had a massive cull of makeup when I realised that I'd been fighting my colouring. Just this weekend I gave my EL Doublewear Light to a friend; boxed and hardly used. In comparison, the No7 is lighter, looks more natural and lasts better with no caking.

Seriously, try No7. Ive never been a huge fan but recently have bought some excellent stuff of theirs.

I was a ELDW fan until I thought it was making me look older than I am, I have since moved on to Lancôme Le Teinte, and it is fabulous. It has lovely coverage without being caked, and lasts all day.

StarHeartDiamond · 07/06/2017 20:24

Clarins everlasting and true radiance are both very good.

iamdazedandconfused · 07/06/2017 20:31

YSL Touché Eclat foundation is lovely for drier skin but if you want something similar in coverage to EL DW it might not be heavy enough for you.

Girlywurly · 07/06/2017 21:33

I've recently tried Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid after seeing it recommended on here, and have been really pleased with it. Bargain price too!
