Dressing table lighting

Could someone help me with this please? Am planning on getting built in alcove cupboards for dds room and would like to have one of them include a hidden dressing table. It would be roughly similar to picture one, only narrower as the alcove is narrower and have a pull out bit like the second photo (like a computer desk) as underneath the desk will be drawers for storage so she will need to pull out the table to use it to put things on etc.

It will be next to a window but with the doors of the hidden storage open it will be dark so I need inside lighting. I've been looking at Hollywood mirrors like this one but they are all very large and I'd like one smaller for the space or I will have less shelf storage space in the unit (although maybe there's a reason I can't find any lower than 60cm high....). I've got an electric point there so that's all fine.

What I'm really wondering is is this the best way to go for dressing table lighting? Will a strip light on top of the shelf above do a good enough job for when she gets to the point of doing make up etc? If so that would be a lot cheaper and I can just get a bog standard mirror.

Any advice or recommendations gratefully received.

To add, when closed away it would look very roughly like the attached photo.

I'm now worrying there won't be logistically space to dry hair as it might be too narrow to move arms around, off to measure width and see.

Ok, width of alcove is just under 90cm which is quite narrow to blow dry hair in but she could sit the chair back a bit behind the open door and still look in the mirror and have more space.

Gah, is this even going to work? Maybe I'm best off just getting her a separate dressing table when the time comes.
