4 year old has whiteheads on nose?

Hi,

My 4 year old has what looks like small whiteheads on her nose. I am a long term acne sufferer so really don't want her to suffer in a similar fashion. Is there anything I can do to reduce/clear them up? Is this common?

That would be a GP issue, not a S&B issue.

Agree with hulder. But whiteheads aren't the same as acne and little kids do get spots. Just keep cleaning her in the shower the same as you normally would.

Do you wash her face with a clean flannel daily rather than just a splash in the bath?

Nyancat · 03/06/2017 21:42

Reading this just reminded me that DD had some of these last year but they have disappeared now. Didn't do anything to them but thinking now about it they've gone.

SunEgg · 06/06/2017 17:23

@Dame

No I don't use a flannel. Should I?

I am not keen on wasting GP time on it, but do want them gone.

Get 7 cheap cotton flannels - £33p on Wilkos and properly wash her face with it using warm water. See if things have improved after a few weeks.

Thanks Dame, I will try that.

Dd had this when she was a baby. I think the health visitor referred to them as milk spots. They cleared up by themselves.
I would try washing gently, then gp if they are still there.

EnidButton · 07/06/2017 04:20

They're most likely 'milk spots'. Very common in babies and very young children. They're like milia in adults rather than white heads. It's not acne.

You should leave them alone and just cleanse as usual with warm clean water. If you're concerned I don't see an issue with bringing it up with your Doctor. Definitely don't try to remove them or use any treatments on them. They'll go on their own.
