It's blotchy red and irritable and I always get this itchy redness between my eye brows which comes up in little red bumps.

AssassinatedBeauty · 28/05/2017 06:59

Have you tried aloe vera, just the pure aloe vera gel?

Comedyboobs · 28/05/2017 09:44

Sounds like an allergy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2017 09:53

Sounds like an allergy to me too, my milk and preservative allergy shows in my face first.

BusterGonad · 28/05/2017 10:51

Tell us your current routine so we can get an idea of what's going on!

Ineedagoodusername · 28/05/2017 10:55

Ok so I cleanse at might with toleriane dermo cleanser. Then moisturise with oilatum natural repair face cream. Try not to do anything else.

In the mornings i use dermalogica daily microexfoliant and the same moisturiser

Oilatum is that the stuff they do a kids range off for eczema? If it is I find it makes sore dry skin worse. I'd recommend a creamy cleanser like baby lotion (not Johnson's it's too harsh) rub it in all over them wipe of with damp cotton wool, then apply Aveeno all over, the cream one in the tube. Eczema creams imo really aggravate my eczema!!!

AssassinatedBeauty · 28/05/2017 11:04

Have you tried using nothing but water, using aloe vera for moisturising and maybe applying a mild steroid cream like Hc45 to calm the redness/irritation?

Ineedagoodusername · 28/05/2017 11:16

No it's a normal moisturiser not for eczema

Ineedagoodusername · 28/05/2017 11:17

Aloe Vera gel ? I have some I think

Ok I know lots of people on here rave about that cleanser but personally it irritated my skin! Also microfoliant could be another culprit as again that used to flare my skin up! That moisturiser is fine however it has been discontinued in boots and think u can only get it online from Amazon and there's a pharmacy website that sells it I think, just more hassle though.
Can you afford dermalogica ultracalming cleanser? If so I would use that morning and night and drop the lrp cleanser and microfoliant. Massage it into skin and remove with a warm flannel rather than with cotton pads or you can rinse it off in shower but be careful because this can actually dehydrate your skin more causing more irritation so I'd defo go the flannel route. Then get a moisturiser from face theory, they do a few diff ones so just go to their website and have a read of them to see which would suit your needs more. In the morning you should be using an spf too, lrp or eucerin make good ones.

This cleanser? And just use an ordinary flannel or a particular type of flannel?

This one? Says for dry and sensitive skin. My skin definitely is dry as well.

Google perioral dermatitis and see if it sounds familiar. Agree it could be an allergy but I had very similar symptoms and the GP diagnosed that.

mintmagnummm · 29/05/2017 07:17

Yes that's the cleanser, but you can get it cheaper in bigger size from beautythings.co.uk.
When you say your skin is dry, explain what you mean as it could in fact be dehydrated and if you use something for dry skin it could be too much for u. What spf do you use?

Ineedagoodusername · 29/05/2017 21:31

Need to check what spf i use. It just feels quite dry. Not sure if it is though.

OP posts:
Ineedagoodusername · 29/05/2017 23:03

This is my spf

I would definitely stop with the daily microfoliant as too much exfoliation can be really bad for skin. I would even suggest skipping cleansing completely in the morning and just giving it a splash with some warm (not hot) water. I really rate the Avene Extremely Gentle gel cleanser for removing makeup in the evening, you don't even need to remove with a flannel, it just rinses off with water. You could take advantage of Boots 2 for 3 offer and try one of Avene's moisturisers and spf, they do a range for sensitive, allergy prone skin. From personal experience I'd say read the sunscreen ingredients carefully as many ingredients in sunscreen can be terrible for sensitive skin. I couldn't find the ingredient for the one you mentioned but things to avoid would be alcohol denat, parfum/ fragrance.

Happy to answer any more questions you might have.

mintmagnummm · 30/05/2017 06:55

I'm not familiar with that sunscreen, does it contain fragrance? When you apply it does it sting in any way?
Have you had a look at the face theory creams and found any that sound suitable for your skin?

Ineedagoodusername · 30/05/2017 08:18

No doesn't sting. I only do the exfloiant occasionally

OP posts:
Ineedagoodusername · 30/05/2017 08:19

Exfoliant
