Stylish stationary?

I'm looking to get some new stationary for the next academic year (starting September). I specifically want a nice diary and pen, but will probably buy a few other bits too.

Ted Baker does a few nice bits, but not a diary.

Anyone seen anything nice?

Stationary = not moving
Stationery = lovely pens and notebooks and everything fantastic to waste your money on.

Have you looked in Paperchase? Their stuff is ace.
Also there's another shop which is a specialist but I can't remember their name now, there's one in Liverpool Street station.

I'm a bit of a stationery nerd, so I may have consumer tested a few of these...

Paperchase is a great option with lots of choice for academic year diaries. If you like Ted Baker, you could also try Kate Spade; I'm currently using a ringed planner from that range (black with white spots) and they also do card bound diaries. Selfridges and John Lewis stock Kate Spade, and there is an outlet at Bicester. You could also look in Kikki K (online and at Covent Garden) or Typo (online and ?Westfield). Kikki K's pens are lovely and flow like a dream. Typo is more functional and funky than luxurious.

For a bound planner, Moleskine (online and some stores including Birmingham Grand Central) is a classic. They do academic year planners of various sizes, both hard and soft bound. Or you could buy a Leuchtturm 1917 for a bullet journal.

Cross pens are another personal recommendation. I love the ion, which clicks apart to full length to reveal the nib.

Another vote for moleskine diaries. I have the academic year one, A5 size, with a week to view one side and lined page ideal for the week's "to do" list in the other. Been asked lots at work meetings where I got it!

Available in a range of plain colours, and they have design tie-ups. Looks like options for 2017-18 include Peanuts, Star Wars and Alice in Wonderland. Lots to browse on the website; the "planner weekly notebook" is the format I like.

I have a black leather Filofax. It's dull outside but inside it's stickered and decorated to within an inch of its life!

May Instick my nose in and a ask the stationery nerds where the Jeff I can get a good block pad, for notes? Not sticky. Can't find any except twee ones on Amazon.
Apologies for hijack.
(My kids teacher told them 'e' for envelope!)

user1491401693 · 27/05/2017 08:23

No they don't.

FlyingSoloFlyingFree · 27/05/2017 08:27

KikkiK or Typo - both have shops but only in London I think, online ordering is easy enough though.

FlyingSoloFlyingFree · 27/05/2017 08:28

Ha cross post with Crepuscular - fellow stationery geek!

myrtleberry · 27/05/2017 09:04

Waterstones do academic diaries including a hardback one with days on the left and a notes page on the right for £8.99.

nameohnameohname · 27/05/2017 09:21

Stationery - envelopes and all things paper/writing related

Stationary - automobile- completely still, like a parked car

Wink

And a ruffled notepad to you @FlyingSolo. Good to see a fellow stationery geek flying free.

@A1Sharon Are you thinking standard post-it block size or bigger? Typo does a memo block and also some jotter pads.: typo.com/UK/p/typo/block-head-memo-pad/9350486838330.html?region=UK#region=UK&start=1 They have frequent sales too. Or via Hema here: www.hemashop.com/gb/shop?searchtext=memo+holder

Tkmaxx or homesense sometimes have lovely stationery
