A while back someone on here recommend something you can buy in boots for around £6 that gets rid of spots on back.... I want to say it's something used in hospitals maybe for operations Hmm

I keep getting lots of whiteheads on back and tops of arms, I have never suffered in the past except when pregnant with backache so I'm unsure why I'm getting now as definitely not pregnant online different thing is I'm no longer on the pill after 15 plus years

Where I have scratched they are marking and I would really like to get them cleared up for summer

Duac gel as a start, has to be prescribed by a GP though

MinisWin · 09/05/2017 20:39

Hibiscrub?

AnneLovesGilbert · 09/05/2017 20:39

I've had the worst back skin for months, messed up hormones I think. Watching with interest and hoping someone can suggest a solution!

LemnisKate · 09/05/2017 20:41

Hibiscrub maybe? It's an anti bacterial wash.

Following, I'm getting desperate!

Do you have long hair? I used to get spots on my back and realized (after years of this) that it was due to using conditioner - now I'm careful to hold my hair up when I condition it, and I hang my head down to rinse it off. Bit of a pain, but no more spots!

Hibi-scrub. (Used to be called hibi-clens if you want to do some google research)

It's used by some derms in the US for acne. It's a bright red liquid in either a 500ml bottle or a 250ml bottle with a narrower lid that's easier to use. £6-£10ish. In bigger Boots it's in the first Aid section or, order it into smaller shops. You may be able to find it cheaper on line and in pet shop.

Use neat, rinse thoroughly and DO NOT get it on any mucas membranes (vulva, nostrils, mouth) or anywhere near your eyes. It has the same active ingredient in it as Savlon but at a higher strength.

Traditionally used as a pre surgery scrub by both nurses etc and by the patient before going into hospital, to reduce risk of infections (e.g. Mrsa). Also sold in pet stores for cleaning horses hooves and for skin infections in animals. (You may find it cheaper in a pet store in the grooming section). People also use it for preventing body odour and for smelly feet.

No guarantee of working obviously and it's alcohol based so can be drying. I had a lot of success with it on hormonal cystic acne on my jaw.

Hibiscrub. Its worked well for me in the past.

EnidButton · 09/05/2017 21:27

I should say I've never used it for whiteheads. Could that be a diet thing? You could try upping your omega 3 either with supplements or by eating more oily fish. Vitamin D is excellent for skin, as is zinc. Dark green leafy veg, avocados, avoiding refined sugar, all might help. Sorry if I'm repeating stuff you already know but just in case. Smile

Hibi scrub. you can buy it on Amazon. Don't use it long term though as the bacteria on your skin can become resistant and you end with a horrid infection. Or so says my mother.

Bit strange to have whiteheads on the tops of your arms...?

I get spots on my back if I have a dandruff flare up on my scalp - it's the dead skin cells flaking off that fall down and irritate my skin. TMI.

Thank you all

To answer few questions I don't have long hair, bob but do wash in shower so could be conditioner adding to it, to be honest don't think what helps is that I really feel the cold so over winter I wrap up.... vest, jumper and Dressing Gown on top with heating on Blushso hopping when the sun arrives I can air it a bit in a vest but to be honest would want to try and clear it as much as I can as would feel self conscious

I will give all suggestions a try
