Any good fake tans for the super pale or shall I just get it done in a salon?

Just that really! I'm super pale but like to have a hint of colour on holiday. I tried the Dove and St Tropez daily build-up ones years ago but found them a bit streaky. Am I missing any must-try brands? Thanks!

Watching!!

I'm a milk bottle l. I can get a passable fake on my legs but not the rest of me. Think spray tan is the only solution.

Rimmel Sunshimmer - cheap as chips and so brilliant! Try the wash off stuff in Light first (I like the matte one but they also do a shiny one) and then graduate to the self-tan. A mitt is essential but doesn't have to be an expensive one.

Thanks sheba! I'm off to Boots tomorrow then!

Bronze Express. I've used it for years and you can see it as it goes on so makes application very easy. One coat gives a light golden glow and it darkens just slightly after about 15 mins. You can do a second coat then if you want darker. It fades naturally. I'm pale and swear by it.

Have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tanning all year round for two years now. Am very pale and just slap it on and top up a couple of times per week (every couple of days for face). It doesn't seem to streak, but admittedly I do have to scrub down and start from scratch every couple of weeks due to build up in random places. Beauty expert Freya Barker was raving about it on BBC Radio London last week, which vindicated my choice Grin

But re-reading your post - as it's just for holiday, might be worth treating yourself to a professional spray tan.

I like cocoa brown and st moritz but I use the dark versions. They have a guide colour so you don't get streaks. I just squirt the moose on a tanning glove and apply, it's so easy. They have different shade ranges so the light or fair would probably be fine.

I'd either go professional spray tan or, if you are very pale, my very pale friend dilutes dove gradual tanner with more moisturiser (Nivea I think) to get an even more subtle build up.

Thanks all, really appreciate the suggestions! Yes, I've had a pro spray tan before and was delighted with the results. I guess I just prefer the idea of a DIY option so I can replicate the (hopefully marvellous) effect at some other occasions I've got coming up without the faff of finding someone locally and fitting in an appointment.

Skinny tan is the best I've used, if using the mouse, only leave on for a couple of hours, not 6-8 if your pail. If smells amazing and gives the most natural colour.
