I need a mascara lesson!

I'm not good at makeup in general, but my eyes are quite nice and I'd like to highlight them a bit more, but not in a really obvious way. Any time I've tried mascara I don't think it's been very noticeable, it always seems to be quite dry or something. I see my friends with eyelashes that have more volume than mine and their mascara looks sort of moist compared to mine? It doesn't matter what brand I've used, it's always the same. How should I be using mascara?

You tube tutorials!
I always use eyelash curlers first. Two coats of mascara,I add the 2nd coat really soon after the first So their still a bit moist/tacky.

Sounds as though perhaps your mascara has dried out and you could do with replacing it?

Max Factor and Maybelline do good mascaras on the high street. Miss Sporty is very cheap and, IMO, excellent quality. Higher end, Benefit and Lancome are well rated. Benefit They're Real seems to me to be a particularly moist formulation. W7 do a budget version which is very good.

I'm wondering if you need to apply a lot more mascara to get the effect you want? You can use disposable spoolies to brush through after each coat, in order to avoid clumps. YY to curling your lashes first.

Also, tightlining can enhance mascara. There are lots of YouTube tutorials to show you how.

Definitely curl them first, it always helps make mine look longer. You could also try a lash primer before your mascara, Dior do a really good one but I've got a really cheap Primark one that isn't too bad. Put it on then put your mascara on straight after before it dries.
