Tops riding up at the back when sitting

Does anyone else have this problem?
I suspect it is either because the tops are not wide enough to cover my widened hips/larger bottom (I've been pregnant recently?
What is the answer- I'm wearing breastfeeding tops from h+m but a size up would be too big. Thanks.

Maybe try the longer type of vests underneath other tops, I feel more secure when my muffin is enclosed Grin

buckeejit · 04/05/2017 21:47

I get this when tops are too tight. I'm fat and v pear shaped & on tighter Jersey tops it happens :(. Looser tops are the answer but don't always look better

twofloorsup · 04/05/2017 21:49

I wear men's t shirts as they got me longer in the body.
Sorry that's probably not that helpful !

twofloorsup · 04/05/2017 21:49

Fit me not got me !

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 04/05/2017 21:55

I've got a long back as well, if that makes sense, so the top has further to go, I suppose. I'll try to shift some of the pregnancy weight... I can't buy new clothes right now (nowehere to put them!). But in case I did, what styles would people recommend? I'm a bit pear shaped, size 12 pre-baby.

I wear vests under mist things now. Not granny vests, but vest tops

apotheke · 04/05/2017 21:59

Really long vests under everything is the only solution. And high waisted jeans helps. It's essential really as the moment you have a toddler all the bending and sitting on the floor is really uncomfortable and embarrassing.

burnishedsilver · 04/05/2017 22:02

Higher rise jeans.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 04/05/2017 22:03

M&s do some long tops in their basic range - cotton t-shirts in many colours, they wash well and are good value for money. I too am long-bodied so these tops are a godsend.

Unicorn81 · 04/05/2017 22:05

Yip longline vests from yours or primark

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 05/05/2017 06:54

Thanks for the replies.
I find the stretchy fabric ones are also. It helping me.
Any suggestions for high waisted jeans?
Ohtoblazes, would you mind posting the link again as the first one didn't work. Thank you.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 05/05/2017 09:29

I think that works!

I also have the Primark ones - the fabric is a bit thinner and stretchier than the M&S ones, and they are maybe half an inch to an inch shorter, but still longer than most tops and still good for layering. I cannot find them on their website though.

Looking forward to people's suggestions for high waisted jeans!

Also try buying from tall ranges in shops or wear a body type thing

BusterGonad · 05/05/2017 09:39

I get this. I think it's because I'm tall with big boobs.

woodhill · 05/05/2017 09:43

I'm not that tall but get it. Tops aren't that long or shrink.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 05/05/2017 11:50

Thanks, the link worked.
I'm not that tall or busty, maybe it's just the style I'm currently wearing or my shape. It only started in pregnancy and has continued and it is very annoying as I really don't want any more new clothes right now.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/05/2017 13:58

I think that happens when the top is too small for you. I find it a pain as I have narrow shoulders and whose hips thanks kids You will have to change the style of tops you are buying and go for a line or else size up.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 05/05/2017 13:59
  • wide not whose!
woodhill · 05/05/2017 15:48

Probably, I have slim shoulders too but a bit of a tummy.

ijustwannadance · 05/05/2017 15:58

As PP said, try tops from the tall ranges for an extra few inches. I'm 5'6 so not tall but have a long torso so buy tall coats, tops and dresses so they sit correctly especially at the waistline.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 05/05/2017 19:06

So many high street shops sell tall lines? I'm also 5'6 but what you say makes sense. Yes, I've got wider shoulders, ribcage (who knew that'd happen) and hips plus a larger bottom from pregnancy. Went up a size after my first pregnancy but I'm only 5 weeks post partum so I should perhaps give it a little more time before I throw all my clothes out.
