I need clothes

I have nothing to wear, in general. Every morning is a nightmare. I do work sometimes but ad hoc.

When not at work I wear jogging bottoms or leggings, cardigans, tops.

When at work I wear plain black torusers, cardigans, tops.

I don't really like jeans.

I have short legs and a longish torso comparatively. I'm also fat. Proper fat, size 18 probably Sad

Any ideas for looking somewhere close to reasonable? I tend to prefer plainish clothes.

Do you like skirts? I like the denim pinifore style dresses in Toast. They have good clean lines and can be worn with long and short sleeves.

I will have a look. They sound like they may be for younger women ?

What's wrong with what you are wearing now - boring? scruffy? want to wear skirts? Are there any shops/brands you feel drawn to?

It's boring and I do feel scruffy a lot of the time. The problem is because of my size I feel anything that might restrict me (a blazer for instance) would be really uncomfy. I like Fat Face, Seasalt, White Stuff

Jersey blazers are great for smartening an outfit up without being too restrictive or umcomfortable

It's amazing how something properly in your size can make you feel! I tried on some fabulous dresses at a friends the other day, and they were just my size. No gapes, nothing tight or too short etc. It was actually a revelation.
I'm terrible at buying clothes too, and most of my wardrobe is at least 3 years old, and ill fitting.
My friend advised : go in, try stuff on until you know what brands/sizes are best for you. Then buy them. She buys a lot on eBay and saves loads.

Have you looked at ASOS, they do a curve range? If you can give an indicator what you are looking for. DP's have dresses that are pretty flattering. I'm mid 40s, size 14 and find ASOS doesn't just cater for the younger range, Oasis etc are on there too. Soft blazer is a good idea. Go for neutrals to start then add colour like a neutral top, jeggings (M&S are dead comfy, way more than jeans) and a coloured soft blazer?

I second the jersey blazer recommendation. They feel comfier then stuffy blazers and they smarten a look up nicely. I am large chested and find ones with a waterfall front, or a slight peplum flare are very flattering.
