Best Moisturiser, light but effective and not too costly!

Just used up my Liz Earle moisturiser, it was very gorgeous. Light but worked really well on my 47 yo skin. But rather pricey.

Anyone know of any other fab moisturisers for under £10 ?

I have combination skin.

Haven't tried it myself yet but Nivea rich moisturising day cream has been featured in a few prominent beauty youtubers 'favourites' videos. guilty pleasure viewing

At £3 it would be worth a shot!

Darthvadersmuuuum · 01/05/2017 21:37

I was going to suggest LE until I read the OP. Aldi moisturiser is good but if doesn't have the lightness of LE.

Rockspin · 01/05/2017 21:38

I'm a big Liz Earle fan myself but don't use her cream everyday. I find Nivea Light day cream (in a tube) is just as good if not better (skin seems more hydrated for longer) and it's so cheap (£3ish). I sometimes use the rich version at night.

Rockspin · 01/05/2017 21:39

Just realised I x posted with another Nivea recommendation! Grin

EmmaCB1 · 01/05/2017 21:39

I really rate the Avene range and it's sometimes on 3 for 2 in boots. Not Nivea cheap but not LE prices either.

ChishandFips33 · 01/05/2017 21:43

I like Nivea soft
Soap and glory For Daily Youth - often in 3for2 in Boots

But I prefer la Roche Posay range

squishee · 01/05/2017 21:46

Olay beauty fluid - I use the one for sensitive skin, day and night. Have done for 20+ years. Am told my skin looks younger than it should.

MrsDustyBusty · 01/05/2017 21:47

Just out of the price guide, but not much, is the wonderful la roche posay baume b5. Everyone should try it, it's great.

maggiethemagpie · 01/05/2017 21:48

My top tip with moisturiser is to buy one tub of the pricey stuff, and then replenish it with samples, like the ones you get as gift with purchase - you can usually get these off ebay and if you insist on them being sealed then you'll know they've not been tested.

Elemis marine cream is £££ in the shops but they are always giving away samples of 15ml tubes with magazines, so ebay is awash with them, and I just buy these to replenish my pot.

Rinkydinkypink · 01/05/2017 21:48

Blue tub nivea is the best! Beats all the other creams.

explodingkittens · 01/05/2017 21:56

I nick dp's Nivea Soft (white tub) quite a lot, it's lovely.

I use Astral at night which is cheap as chips but it's too heavy for day cream.

Have also been using the Waitrose Pure range which is absolutely great - often 3 for 2 as well.

Am 43 and my skin definitely looks younger. A bunch of 16-year-old girls told me the other day they thought I was 'about 30ish' so I reckon if teenagers think I look young maybe the creams are doing something Grin

Emmac50 · 01/05/2017 22:11

I use Aldi serum and avon anew moisturiser. I'm nearly happy not having make up on. I love the Aldi serum

Cakescakescakes · 01/05/2017 22:14

Boots Botanics has some very reasonable
prices and I've liked almost everything over tried. Am using the Clary Sagw moisturiser at the minute and think it was £4!

Cakescakescakes · 01/05/2017 22:14

Sage

millifiori · 01/05/2017 22:20

Nivea Q10. Much lighter than the other Nivea products - it's not greasy and doesn't drag against the skin, but it leaves your skin feeling really elastic and hydrated. £5-10 depending on whether or not it's on special offer. It usually is.

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 01/05/2017 23:45

Cerave. Amazon.

OodleDoodleBug · 02/05/2017 14:25

Another one loving Olay Beauty Fluid. My skin loves it.

DissonantInterval · 02/05/2017 15:12

I started a similar thread a while back and La Roche Posay was recommended. I have the Hydraphase light (which I bought instead of the rich because of my rubbish French) but am really impressed with it. It's very moisturising and not sticky/greasy. It is out of your price range though by about £5.

squishee · 02/05/2017 15:24

I have sometimes strayed away from Olay Beauty Fluid Sensitive Blush, but I always go back to it. Comes in a huge (200 ml) bottle for about £6.

Personally I hate putting anything highly fragranced on my skin / near my eyes (like Nivea blue tub - shudder). This one is unfragranced.

slug · 02/05/2017 15:53

Love Nivea Blue myself, but it can be a bit on the heavy side. For day I use Kheils I'm in my 50's, it does the job and a small bottle lasts me 6 months.

DifficultLemonDifficult · 02/05/2017 18:59

I'm a big fan of Eucerin 5% replenishing day cream. £11. Changed my life.

SeagullGirl · 02/05/2017 19:11

Nivea Soft. White tub. Never looked back (and I used to buy £30+ moisturiser).

ChishandFips33 · 02/05/2017 19:34

I also use Boots Traditiobal Glycerin and Rose Water as a moisturiser

QueSera · 02/05/2017 19:44

Look at Superdrug's own-brand range - some fantastic ones eg the Optimum range, often on special eg buy one get one free

ginghamstarfish · 02/05/2017 22:53

I recently started using Superdrug's B range, which has 4 different 'levels' according to age. It seems very good, excellent reviews, and always on offer at about £6 cream, £7serum.
