QVC are selling the Dyson dryer

I have been hesitating over buying this since the day it was released because I couldn't imagine how it could possibly be as good as the hype. Now QVC have it so I have ordered one (with no P&P) and will be able to use it for a month under their 30 day return policy and make my mind up whether it is worth the money.

Sadly it won't be delivered until the end of May but hopefully it will be worth waiting for.

It's the same price as everywhere else. I thought QVC sold things cheap.

Sometimes they sell things cheaper but it's more they guarantee to take things back in 30 days if you don't like. Even stuff like yoghurt, cosmetics, underwear.

daily That's what appealed to me - the fact I can use it for a month will give me the chance to get over the novelty of it and make an informed choice about it's merits or otherwise.

I have just discovered I was so overexcited when I ordered it I accidentally ordered two.

I do it for make up as fining colours that genuinely suit me can be difficult. I've often checked to see if something is sold on QVC first. Just for that guarantee.

I had one for Christmas and have to admit I'm not sold on it; it's not as good as the Parlux despite being 74 times more expensive (maybe). It's a bit of a swizz, tbh, and I've since sold mine on ebay (and bought so much gin and eyeliner with the proceeds).

Since posting this I have checked the Dyson website. The hairdryer costs the same on there. It is next day delivery (QVC are estimating three weeks), there is a 35 day return policy and the return is free if I don't like it. So I have cancelled the QVC order(s) and am hopeful for shiny frizz free hair by the weekend.

QVC IS good for returning stuff, but the postage is generally so disproportionately huge, charged on each item not by package, that it makes it an expensive way of choosing between two shades of foundation, say - especially when the product itself isn't usually any cheaper than anywhere else. It's fine if you know what you want, or if you're buying a single item, but rubbish for trying on different sizes or shades.

I've bought several things on QVC that I haven't actually loved, but would only have 'saved' about £5 by sending them back, so ended up passing them on to friends. I am a sucker for TV presentations

4 weeks in and I am returning the Dyson. It did make my hair extra shiny and frizz free but it also dried very flat without any root height or volume. I tried various brushes/techniques and styling products but the final verdict is a thumbs down from me. I think it is probably more suitable for the younger generation to whom straight and sleek are the most important things in a blow dry. I know my 21 yo daughter will be sorry to see it go.

Thanks for the review update. I have been hankering after one but I have a parlux already so I think I'll update that when it finally goes rather than a Dyson.
