I really like some of the pieces from there but I don't know anyone who has any Links of London jewellery to ask. Do a y of you have any and what is the quality like and is it worth the price? Which pieces do you recommend?

Has anyone had one of their charm bracelets?

Do the charms have to go on the specific charm bracelets?

Do they all need welding on?

I need to go to the shop and tell DH exactly which one I want I think. He says he keeps looking but thinks they are too big for my wrists expensive and a bit chav looking expensive.

Whiterabbitears · 16/04/2017 23:20

Yes I like the styling too, especially the triple linked ring types. I'm wondering if their charms fit on other bracelets?

You can put the charms on the sweetie bracelets yourself. I have a traditional charm bracelet and it was sent off to be attached.

I've had a friendship bracelet for 8 years and wear it a lot. It hasn't frayed.

PovertyJetset · 16/04/2017 23:55

I have a fabric bracelet thing and it frayed to shit and links didn't want to know. I think it's shit.

I have the sweetie watch and love it. My dh bought it for me during the Michael kors Trend and liked that it was different from what other people wearing. I have just had it repaired as the elastic snapped. Came back polished and looking like new. 👍🏼

Sorry, I think there is better more imaginative jewellery available.

Whiterabbitears · 17/04/2017 18:00

Yes cream for me it would be different to what others are wearing. I know Links isn't unique, but I live in the back of beyond and we don't have any nearby Links stores so no one seems to wear it here.

I have a sweetie bracelet with charms but I never wear it as it's become too ubiquitous.

Annoying as I had mine a good 10 years before they became popular.

rosesandcashmere · 17/04/2017 18:21

I have a friendship bracelet and it's never frayed. I have the uneven black one and it's beautiful!

Whiterabbitears · 17/04/2017 23:36

I have seen some very poor copies of the sweetie in high street jewellers which is a shame because then like you say it becomes ubiquitous. I had one a few years ago but it looked awful.

I have about 6 bracelets including sweetie original and the mini sweetie. Weirdly I don't have any of their earrings but I do have 4 necklaces. All have lasted well. The only problem bracelet I had was the narrative bangle which broke on its second wear and I took it back and received a refund.

My original sweetie bracelet I had made bigger to fit my chunky wrists and I have one charm soldered on it - my choice to have it soldered on and it's not a links charm. My smaller mini bracelet has just been restrung and I pretty much wear it next to my watch every day.

At the moment they have an offer on and I understand there will be a few more over next few weeks.

Whiterabbitears · 18/04/2017 10:06

Its good they can resize the sweetie, I'm a chunky too and looking at the dimensions it would need to be made bigger. Do you know if its only the stores that do that or does it include places like Ernest Jones that sell Links?

A friend of mine has not had good luck with her Links Sweetie bracelet. It kept breaking and she kept sending it back. Still it kept breaking. She was not impressed!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 18/04/2017 10:31

I had a necklace a few years ago which just fell apart after a few wears. Basically they didn't want to know. Apalling customer service (back then, might have changed.)
I think a lot (not all) of their stuff is horrifically overpriced for what it is. It just looks like stuff you can get in Warren James or similar. And Sterling Silver is still capable of turning your skin green, unfortunately if there's copper in the alloy.
