If you can help me I will love you forever! My knees are red and look stupid and stand out and means I don't wear shorts and shorter skirts and I want too. I don't even care about the shape etc I just want to lighten the skin to normal skin colour?! I exfoliate and I use eucerin on them. They are sort of bobbly too. Iv also tried using nip and fab pads on them and that made no difference. PLEASE PLEASE help me!!!

Purple I don't test my elbows much either, but it's from my youth, as a child.

Purplerainbow · 14/04/2017 08:53

Ah ok. Bizarrely my elbows are ok ish, well I'm not bothered about them but my knees bother me! Stops me wearing shorts and skirts with no tights!

Knees.

I have the same problem and have avoided showing my knees every summer. This year I have consciously have tried to improve it.

I have tried lactic acid (the active in body creams that improve kp) but didn't do much. What seems to be working is the 2% retinol for The Ordinary- better after about 8 weeks, but still not perfect.

It exfoliates so gets rid of the thicker skin in a way no end of moisturisers ever have and has started to reduce the redness.

logon Iv not heard of that, where did you buy it please? I will attach pic of said knees.....

Watching with interest. I have dry rough knees and also patch at the top of my feet where i cross my ankles. I am in the process of trying out liquid callus remover on them.

LogonMounstuart · 15/04/2017 18:01

Purple your knees look fine! I buy my The Ordinary 2% retinol from Victoria Health (on line) but they also sell it on ASOS. It seems expensive at about £6 but much cheaper than all the moisturisers I have tried that did nothing!

prettywhiteguitar · 15/04/2017 20:43

Your knees look totally normal to me Smile

prettywhiteguitar · 15/04/2017 20:44

Your standards are very high Grin

Purplerainbow · 15/04/2017 21:21

Normal?? Really?! Everyone else has knees the same colour as rest of their legs! To be fair they look ok today, some days are worse than others but not sure why!

Oh god, mine are the same - I blame years of kneeling on a hard floor changing nappies! Have been asked many times if I've had a fall as my knees look so bruised Sad Am currently trying the heel balm twice a day and then using a foot file (sandpaper type, not pedegg!) a couple of times a week, fingers crossed it helps. Hadn't thought of psoriasis - I used to get scalp psoriasis many years ago but seems to have cleared up - wonder if it's the same thing on my knees...

Purplerainbow · 16/04/2017 13:45

I don't care about the knees themselves I just want the same colour skin on my knees as my legs!! Annoying isn't it!!

I wonder if any of those 'peeling' creams people rave about on here might help. Can't suggest any as I don't trust use them.

Purplerainbow · 17/04/2017 10:08

Yes shotgun I thought that but wouldn't know where to start!
