Anybody dye their own eyebrows at home?

What do you use? I have mine done at a salon but they need doing every 2-3 weeks as they fade quickly. I only go once a month and have to live with the fade for 2 weeks each month but would love to do them myself so I can do them more often. Plus its £25 a time at the salon.

So please tell me, what do you use and how tricky is it?

I would start with the dark brown, then if it wasn't enough add black the next time. You only need a little anyway, so the added black would be smaller again.

I second that advice. Try dark brown first and build the colour up in layers.

Try using a small artists paintbrush to apply instead of a mascara type wand- is so so much easier and much more precise. I find mascara wands/brushes for eyebrow dye makes it hard to get them equal in shape.

I use my regular hairdye (Nice n' Easy medium brown) and apply it with cotton buds with the cotton tips removed. If I go over the edges I wipe the excess off with a cotton bud soaked in micellar water. Leave it on ten minutes and wipe it off with micellar-soaked cotton wool pads. I've been doing it for years and I love that my hair and brows are always the same colour.

Hi OP. I use Rectocil that i get from Amazon - you need the tube of dye and the bottle of developer. I used to use kits from Boots but found that they changed (a new EU regulation came in i think) and they were not so good and made my brows a bit orangey. The professional stuff which will cost ~£12 and will last ages is prob what they are using at the salon at £10 a pop!

Or £25 - which is very expensive btw. I'm sure there are some great you tube videos on how to apply..i left mine on too long this week and had a panic as i had dyed my.skin (as per the photo above!) but the dye came off with a bit of face scrub and some face oil.

So glad to see other use the just for men beard dye! It's brilliant and it lasts me ages as you only need a tiny amount.

Vaseline all round, scary caterpillars for five mins and ta da!

Do you dye your hair? I also just put a bit of hair dye on mine whilst doing my head and waiting for it to develop. Also Nice and Easy!

Inspired by this thread, I went out and bought some Eylure today. Didn't hold out much hope as my eyebrows are so sparse (overplucking and under active thyroid - winning combination!!). Have been drawing them on as long as I can remember.

So pleased with the results! Turns out there were some hairs - invisible little wispy ones - that have taken the dye enough to make a difference! I will still need to do a bit of filling in, but I won't recoil at my bald eyebrows when I look in the mirror in the morning!

Bumptoburp · 13/04/2017 21:27

I did mine recently and left it on a little longer than usual as I hadn't felt the previous attempt had been quite dark enough. I was also sure that my brows were thinning but no, after a good dollop of dye I can give Ms Delevingne a run for her money! Amazing how many hairs can be greying hidden. So pleased you like your result OP!

Bumptoburp · 13/04/2017 21:28

My mistake - Pugwalls, not OP!

FlappyFish I read about Just for Men on MN, so you may have recommended it to me!
