I really could do with washing mine daily as I feel so much better for it

Tend to do it every other for fear of wracking it

My hair is very curly and quite unmanageable
I use the curly girls method but to be honest it makes my hair go like straw ... I think my hair needs the 'cones and parabens
I wash mine once a week. Anymore and it's a lot worse and smells damp

RedMetamorphosis · 03/04/2017 20:46

I really couldn't wash it every day, my scalp goes awfully greasy and my hair gets damaged.

I normally do twice a week.

Lucked · 03/04/2017 20:50

I have very greasy hair, it is just beyond my shoulders it is washed, blow dried and straightened every day. It is very healthy. If I don't it is properly greasy to beyond my ears.

During my second pregnancy it was less greasy and I washed it every other day, it reverted back a few weeks after I gave birth without me doing anything.

ChocolateDoll · 03/04/2017 20:59

My hair would be an absolute shambles if I washed it every day.

I wash it about every 3 or 4 days.

SafeToCross · 03/04/2017 21:09

I think it is the cycle of products. Try to gradually cut down the amount and frequency?

Unicorn81 · 03/04/2017 21:11

Yes, wash and dry every morning. I have flyaway hair that gets greasy after one day so have to, i use good shampoos and conditioners. I also make a point of washing hair first, then adding conditioner and clipping up and only rinse it at the end of my shower so like a mini hair mask each day.

Ive tried dry shampoo but it just does nothing for me and i feel like i need to wash it. On a sunday i might not wash if im not going out or i will do a longer condintioning treatment.

Lalalandfill · 03/04/2017 21:53

I have washed my hair every day for about 25 years

It feels horrible, lank and greasy if I don't

How do you know your hair would be wrecked if you washed it every day? Mine is fine. I don't even use particularly posh products

ILoveMonkeys · 03/04/2017 21:59

I thrash around a lot at night and each morning I look like I've been dragged through a bush. So I have to wash my hair daily in order to style it.

This ☝🏻

Twice a week, in order to maintain the colour longer. I use silver shampoo to help and a leave in conditioner.

BusterGonad · 04/04/2017 06:26

I wash mine about once a week, it's very thick and just past my shoulder and wavy, I hate washing my hair, it takes a few hours to dry and I've never blow dried it, I did own some hair strengtheners a few years ago but it took ages to do and I get fed up of them. If I washed my hair everyday it'll be a huge bush. Day 2 or 3 and it's manageable!

MaisyPops · 04/04/2017 06:30

No. 2 or 3 times a week for me and dry shamppp between.

But im quite lucky that i dont get greasy hair other than a small patch at the top. Od feel differently if i had to work in a city, use thr tube etc. Then id imagine id just feel grimy.

Candlefairy101 · 04/04/2017 06:51

Wavy/curly, fine and dry here.

When I was a teen I washed my hair everyday and it ruined it! It has taken me years to get it back to a great condition.

My hair goes down to my bum, and I'm very fussy with what products I use. If I use cheap or 'high street' brands it will get greasy and limp very quickly.

I now only wash 1 a week or 1 every 10 days. I swear the. Healer shampoos make you hair greasy so you use more and buy more!

I have been buying mine now from tk max. I ran out the other day and used husbands essence and jeeze it was horrible!

I always check the back of the bottle for any silicone etc because it just sits and builds up in my hair.

Candlefairy101 · 04/04/2017 06:51

Not healer! The cheaper shampoos I mean x

SmartyPants0 · 04/04/2017 07:01

I wash my hair every day... have done for years... it's a bit wavy so I blow dry the fridge and scrunch the rest so I still go out with it damp. My hairs in good condition and is really shiny.

tigerdog · 04/04/2017 07:04

I wash my hair every day and I am always told it is in good condition by the hair dressers. I have the occasional day off washing it, when working from home, but I hate leaving it as it gets greasy and is very noticeable. It's always been like that, even in my teens when I only washed it every other day. My hair is highlighted too, although usually only t-section or a half head, and it doesn't seem to fade. I use Aveda camomile shampoo as it is gentle and protects the colour and then conditioner on the ends. Deep condition all over once a week or so. Always use some sort of heat protection spray before blow drying.

BillywigSting · 04/04/2017 07:35

Very very fine, wavy long hair and an awful lot of it. My ponytail is as thick as my friends who's follicles are much thicker mine.

Used to need washing every day if kept down, every other day if tied up.

Now there is a fair chunk of grey it only needs washing twice a week (and the grey looks pretty cool because I am young, mid 20s).

Makes life so much easier. I save about 5 hours a week not having to faff about with it, which is great when you are as terminally lazy I am!

Chrisinthemorning · 04/04/2017 07:39

Yes I look a mess if I don't wash it daily- fine chin length hair.
Just started using Elvive low shampoo for coloured hair and I really like it. Only need to use normal shampoo and conditioner maybe twice a week for a really good clean.

LardLizard · 04/04/2017 07:54

Thanks for replies
I guess it depends on the hair and what shampoo etc you use

Just feel better with it washed and done really

I wash mine every 4 days. It's fine for that length of time. On the 5th day it becomes greasy, hence washing it on the 4th. My hair is in great condition! Oh, and I wear a silk head scarf in bed to stop it from going crazy in the night 😉

fruityb · 04/04/2017 08:11

I used to till I had my son now it's every other. It's short so gets dirty and looks dirty far more than it did when long and my hair is the thing I care most about in my appearance. If it's not right I'm not.

SpookyPotato · 04/04/2017 08:12

I usually do it every day as it just feels greasy and dirty on my head otherwise. Now as a SAHM I do it every other day as it doesn't get outside grime on it. My mum can go three weeks and it'll be still bone dry at the end of that Shock One of the benefits of post menopause I guess!

Nellyphants · 04/04/2017 08:13

Every day & I get loads of compliments on it. I have straight fine hair but loads of it. I don't feel right if I leave it unwashed.

finova · 04/04/2017 08:13

Every 4/5 days.
Looks best on days 2-4.
Any more than this and it gets really dry and frizzy.
Plus it's long and it means I blow dry and straighten less often which has to be better for my hair.

PollyPerky · 04/04/2017 09:14

Goodness, no.
I would find it too time consuming let alone anything else. Washing then blow drying takes me around an hour. My hair takes ages to dry. Washing daily would give me a dry scalp.

I wash it around every 4th day or every 3rd day if on day 3 I am doing something or seeing someone 'important' - or very rarely on 2 consecutive days if it's a special occasion.
