Hair...how much to cut off....what to do with this!

Ok, so i don't particularly like putting my photo on t'internet so this is for today only.

My hair desperately needs a cut, but on a good day I do like it long - this photo was taken on a bad day.

It's dead straight and fine, but I have quite a bit of it. I have a squareish face and wear glasses most of the time.

Do you think a fringe would suit me?

The colour is my own, with the help of the sun - but wouldn't be averse to changing it either!

So here goes nothing anonimity gone.

not sure I like the idea of graduated nits....

Nip · 07/03/2007 13:28

ooohhh no your hair is lovely!!!

I had hair (longer than yours) went through a bad patch, and had it cut SHORT - i cried for hours and hid until it grew.

saadia · 07/03/2007 13:29

yes, keep it around shoulder length with long layers. It looks like it's in really good condition.

DimpledThighs · 07/03/2007 13:29

well I thinkI have similar hair to yours but mine is a lot finer. I have a wonderful hairdresser who also has fine hair and she has cut me a wonderful bob that is graduated at the back so it kind of lifts and gives it more volume. It also falls onto my face a little 'softening' my features - but you have finer features than me.

You could ask about them evening out the colour as it changes down your hair but a cut may render that uneccessary.

I have never regretted my cut - it is younger and much easier to manage. I would not recommend a fringe but that is because they never suited me and require more regular visits.

You look very nice.

Think it looks fine. Clicked on photo expecting it to dreadful but then couldn't think of any suggestions.

would go for longer than a bob - like cod says couple of inches and then some layers at the sides.

Lucycat · 07/03/2007 13:31

I did have layers at the sides, just long enough to put behind my ears.

yeh the condition is ok, considering i blast it with the hairdryer and dry it in about 3 mins

Your hair's great. I'd get a couple of inches off, maybe some slightly shorter layers round the front, but prob wouldn't get a fringe if I were you (but that's cos I'm trying to grow mine out and its taking for ever)

Lucycat · 07/03/2007 13:40

Ok then, perhaps it's not as bad as i feared

It's just I 'found' this style about 3 years ago and wondered whether I had to have a change for changes sake...but perhaps not, layers it is and a couple of inches off.

you never know i may even post another photo when I've had it cut

Agree with others. You've got a lovely long neck so going a bit shorter with the layers at the side would look great.

I had a fringe cut in recently and love it!

Lucycat · 07/03/2007 13:44

back into the ether I go........

ok I have managed to have it cut - is this better? or should I have gone for the fringe?

tis here btw it's really difficult to take a photo of yourself holding the camera at arms length
