I am new btw, but don't let that put you off.
Haven't bought anything new since pregnant (4yrs ago) and have no idea what suits me.
I am 4" 11 and a size 14, so very stumpy with 32F!(ffs)norks.
What the hell do i buy?

HeyBert · 05/03/2007 14:15

HeyBert · 05/03/2007 14:17

except large prints not good for the shorter laydeee i believe

DeviousDaffodil · 05/03/2007 14:17

Why not make an appointment with a personal shopper? Debenhams have them, and they don't cost anything?

Walnutshell · 05/03/2007 14:18

Hmm, have you tried "What not to wear" on the BBC website?

What not to wear

Click on 'the rules' to input your body shape and get some ideas. It might point you in the right direction.

Btw, I'm sure you need to be making the most of those ASSETS and I'm speaking as one who has barely graduated out of a B-Cup despite breastfeeding for the last 16 months

mrsbrightside · 05/03/2007 14:19

thanks heybert, was thinking more binbag myself (recycled of course).
Went into asda and tried some stuff on, came out wanting to kill myself, but Asda often has that effect on me.

OP posts:
Walnutshell · 05/03/2007 14:19

Oh, and it's all in the attitude - not stumpy, but petite and curvaceous! Sounds much better.

Walnutshell · 05/03/2007 14:21

Asda has that effect on me too. Are you near a good shopping centre? Maybe you could take a good friend and try lots of different shops to find a few shops that have clothes/sizes that suit you...

mrsbrightside · 05/03/2007 14:22

Walnutshell, the website looks good, so well give it a try.

hey mrs B, principles rocks at the moment and they have a petite range i think www.principles.co.uk. have a look

chocorange · 06/03/2007 10:36

There is a Trinny and Susannah Style Advisor section on the Littlewoods site where you can enter your actual size, height, problem areas etc and they will suggest clothes that suit - might be worth a try.

here

fishie · 06/03/2007 11:47

debenhams is good, they have loads of concessions and designers at is [ahem]often generously cut and they do petite. and they've got a style guide too.

mrsbrightside · 06/03/2007 19:13

thanks everyone - all so kind!
will hit the shops tomorrow armed with my notes

My aunt is 4"10 and I found when shopping with her that petite range clothing was generally way too big & long, particularly as she too was looking at size 14.
Clothes on this site look lovely, but expensive:

Alternatively, you could spend your money on a very posh well fitted bra!

stitch · 06/03/2007 19:37

havent read the rest of thread, but if you have big norks, then i would suggestt getting a couple of really well fitted bras. they will make you look thinner in all your other clothes

Try Bravissimo for bra's and 'super curvy' clothes generally. I know a designer there and a few satisfied customers who are better endowed than I am, so worth a try. Can look online if no local store.

Good luck with your shopping x

Walnutshell · 09/03/2007 11:46

Ah, now I see that you have already been shopping, how did it go?
