How to deal with Makeup Staff

Sales staff...sorry, I don't know the correct term.

Anyway how do I deal with staff who insist I get all the wrong colours?

For example, I was buying a powder foundation and she was insisting I get a shade I knew will not work for me because it's A/W where I am and I get so so much lighter during the Winter. Of course, pushover me listened to her, and true enough, even now that it's just the end and my skin is at its deepest the shade is darker than me.

Another one was trying to get me to buy a warm toned orange blush and a warm-toned highlighter which are parts of the new collection (I think) when I am clearly cool-toned.

How do you deal with them?

HalfCarrot Smileme too!

OP any staff that insist I buy something would not get any sale from me. I'm not keen on being pushed into purchasing.

If buying a new foundation brand/colour if they don't provide samples don't buy it.

Just firmly & politely say that's not for me or something when they make a suggestion you're not keen on.

You can warm skin up with foundation but I'm meaning if the brand has a huge range of shades you could pick the tone that pulls warm rather than pink, so it's your shade but the undertones are slightly warmer or cooler! A bit like when you are in between shades. I've had this before at Lancôme and Mac. Both look good but one is cooler than the other.

I get you Gonad, I am neutral-toned and quite often choose to got for the warmer version rather than go for the pinker version (which always tends to look ashy).
